I mean maybe to a degree? But look if they were actually going to sell this show as going back to basics I think in the modern world we live in selling BB again on that base concept would once again be a novel idea. It also plays in to the fact that some of the most entertaining moments are born out of the mundane and boredom HMâs experience. The poor reception of the ITV era and what weâre currently expecting this series to be proves that the show really doesnât need to be modernized.

100%. Gen Z have relatively short attention spans. Colorful shiny shit, top 40 music, a slew of 9x16 âcelebritiesâ and an âeverybody winsâ and nobody is offended approach is the modern way if they want to capture that audience. I really donât think theyâre attempting to appeal to original fans from the noughties.

Canât believe how much itâs echos in there. Also the insane amount of just dead space. The bedroom and bathroom are both way too big. I like what theyâve done in the main living space with a few different nooks for HMâs to chill I just wish this would have carried over to the bedroom and bathroom areas. Also I hate that single bedrooms have pretty much become the standard for BB.
I wondered if this could be a sort of holding or waiting room that was used in the original 10 run on launch night. Instead of them each walking into the house individually.
His video is great and gives a good sense of the layout. The house is HUGE! You can tell this isnât some lens trickery like is the case for most BB houses - this place is massive. Almost unnecessarily.
Oh I didnât even notice that. BBAU never used to have a diary room doorbell like that. Very bbuk. I can imagine just standing near that door and youâll be able to hear any conversation happening inside.
I am having a vague recollection of maybe 2012 having something similar, because I remember having the same thought back then. Possibly. But it doesnât change the fact this place lacks the originality of a true BBAU houseâŚ
Even if they are trying to pull in Gen Z Viewers I still think what I said earlier stands true. Especially when theyâve never had to live in a world where they didnât have the internet in their pockets, some have probably never had to wash dishes by hand, bake bread, or do something without having the luxury of being able to just watch a video on it. Remember that no one thought the original BB would work either and that watching a group of live in a proverbial fishbowl would be boring.

Yeah, I did notice that. But still, given the proximity and materials used in the build, if a HM goes into the Diary Room in the early hours of the morning or dead of the night, surely youâd be able to hear something between the HM and the BB speaker.
