BBAU 2025 house build discussion

I suspect this house design will be very similar to the BBUK house and I’m honestly not mad about it.
IMO the design of the house for the first ITV series did kind of give me BBAU vibes. The kitchen especially reminded me of the 2001/2002 kitchen.
I would hope they'd do their own unique style and layout, but maybe that's just me.
There may be some similarities but I doubt they’re building a carbon copy. Would love if they expanded on the first ITV houses mezzanine/the 2nd BBCAN house and actually had the house split over two levels.

Now, inside WWW there’s an area called The Shell. It’s very similar in style to the old outdoor auditorium. In recent years it’s been used as a picnic/seating space, but this season it’s been completely closed off. Just last week it was cleared out and work started inside which makes me think it could be prepped as a potential eviction area, especially if they’re looking to bring back the live audience format.

That holds a decent sized crowd 👌 and yes very reminiscent of the OG amphitheatre.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster!

I’m a local with pretty extensive knowledge of the parks (especially Dreamworld) . I’m there a few times a week and a huge BB fan. Thought I’d finally throw a theory out there, along with some maps for anyone not too familiar with the layout.

The BB house backyard sits right on the fence line with WhiteWater World, in the spot that used to be an old guest entry from Dreamworld. These days it’s just an unused smoking area with a pathway running through it.

On the map I’ve marked in pink a possible path: housemates could exit via the “backyard tunnel,” just like in earlier seasons, and then be transported straight down to The Shell with the crowd waiting.

Also the house is being built extremely close to an active attraction Tailspin — which isn’t even scheduled for maintenance during filming. From that ride, guests will literally be able to see straight into the backyard.
Honestly, I think you've probably hit the nail on the head.

Great information, thank you.

Finally some good fucking food 😍

I have wondered about The Shell being the eviction area but noticed there are a significant amount of supports inside it that may limit the amount of camera positions available to them, the ceiling is also quite low which may also limit on how much lighting they can rig.

It’s a cool looking building though, hope they can figure it out either way

Surely they can turn Tailspin off while the greatest reality show in the world is being filmed at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast!

Evictions are at night when all that will be closed.
Don’t interact with that one.

Moving on… Evictions really aren’t an issue but definitely could be during the day. IIRC when the BBUK house was still at Garden Studios they had a privacy fence installed so I could see something like that being constructed so that there’s no temptation to start throwing things etc during regular park hours.

Really, it's just a poor location to run a 24 hour reality show where contestants are isolated from the world. They're not going to have much control, if any, of people yelling over the wall.

We'll have to wait and see TBH. The house location isn't necessarily ideal but I don't think they've gone in to this blindly either. Like the short run I trust they're going to make the best out of what they've been given and make improvements going forward if necessary.

They’re not silly. Do you really think the public are going to get anywhere close to the building? The amount of money that both Dreamworld and the show will be spending on security alone to cover the house is going to be significant.

100%. You're right. I suppose I'm curious and a little apprehensive to see how they prevent general park noise entering the yard and house. The old compound heard the audience and park. Now they're in the middle of it.

I remember back in the Channel 10 days how you literally could not get anywhere near the compound due to attack dogs, armed guards, etc.

Gonna be hopeful but big brother Italy’s houses and stages are gorgeous. The stage arena is small yet still feels so grandeur. There is also an outdoor stage to the house for housemates to enter, feels like event tv. The house easily feels like an upscale version of OG bbaus, yet isn’t over the top like some of the UK series. Would love for them to go in this direction.

Is there a link to check this out?

Videos are geo-blocked, but you can check out the galleries on there.

I like the house, but the backyard is awful.

I do like some of their stages though!

They do seem to have a nice set. I was never impressed at any of the over-elaborate house/eviction set designs that a lot of series around the world started to adopt.

Does the yard need a massive eye in it? Do we need multiple coloured neon/LED accent lighting plastered across walls? I get it’s to change things up and I’ll take it over a recycled house layout/design, but ultimately it’s quite distracting as a viewer and the housemates end up living in what can only be described as luxury accommodation.

Saying that, I PRAY BBAU does not use background music and musical montages. Also very distracting. I don’t feel like a fly on the wall.
