The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition 2025 ft. Gretel

Some piss poor planning in that ep with the fish drying and net untangling one after another in full sun in 38C heat. They should have rigged up shade cloths for the net untangling. 15 minutes in that kind of sun and I'd be fried and passing out. I've lived in that climate for nine years now and don't even go out between 10am and 4pm when it's sunny, unless it's very brief. So that was a shame, and also for Fev and Leni.

Oop. Two teams are gone. It was sad that Fev had to go out that way. He would probably have held on if it wasn't a virtual pit stop. Leni may have recovered then from her illness by the next leg. I really thought Fev was going to win this year. I thought he was getting a winner's edit. Shows what I know. 😆

Gretel sounded exhausted when she and Epiphany made it to the mat. I suspect there will be an extra non-elimination episode coming up because of the unexpected double drop out. On Wiki, it says they had 15 legs, so does that mean 15 episodes? Last night was episode 7 and there are now six teams left.

Next episode is Sunday at 7:00.

Shame to see Gretel and Epiphany squander their lead with a poor face painting performance. But they're still in with a chance.

I'm reading Gretel's book The Night My Bum Dropped, but it's hard going. It's vaguely amusing at best and painful at worst. It's going to be a struggle to finish. Some of the reviews are pretty damning, too, so I'm not alone.

Dipped midway into the current episode and looks like Gretel & Eppy are not having a fun time. Hope this isn’t the end of the road for them…
I guess a positive is that theres still 6 more episodes so there will be some non elims scattered there to make room for 3 finalists.

I went into this ep with a bad feeling for them, and I was right but yeah, luckily it was a virtual pitstop.

Also I've been wondering why they don't specify what times teams arrive/depart from each pitstop (does the US version still do that?) but have drawn the conclusion the producer manipulation could be the reason why. US always had two specific flights booked for teams to catch, stuff like that, and not being limited to exact 12 hour pitstops would help keep all teams within a certain window to improve logistics. Prior to this season I haven't watched TAR/TARA for a few years so if any of you have the lowdown on that, that'd be great.

I laughed when Georgie went to kiss that woman's feet.

That was a great episode because we had lots of Gretel and Epiphany moments. I was so proud of Gretel when she went over the hot coals again after finally figuring out what she needed to do to pass the task. It looked like they were going to have to take a penalty, but nope, she had a break and worked it out. I'm surprised the other teams didn't just watch each other and see what the successful teams were doing with their hands, though other teams probably didn't want / weren't allowed to help.

The virtual reality game didn't really do much for viewers, but the teams would have had fun.

Gretel's dancing was awesome. It was a joy just to see Gretel and Epiphany enjoying the moment.

Poor Gretel sounded so sick. I was praying throughout that it was a non-elimination episode and thankfully it was. I don't like their odds for the next episode as it's part 2 of the leg and is the same night and Gretel is battling illness. I hope I am wrong. They have done so well.

As you can read, I am a total Gretel fanboy, ha ha. She was so much a big part of my love for Big Brother. I'm so happy she is going to be hosting "The Traitors" next year.

They used to do that with the 7 iteration of TAR. 7's was so much better than Channel 10

Yeah that was frustrating, obviously when Team Fevs quit it screwed up their plans and made it feel like it was being stretched out even more.

I kinda want Aesha and Scott to go next but they're doing too well, but you never know. And the Curries I don't care for either way. Somehow Luke and Sassy have grown on me, but I still want Gretel and Epiphany to win, and Rob and Georgie if not.

Yeah there are some episodes that just fall completely flat. I felt like that for some of the Uzbekistan episodes. It was nice to see some of the countryside and people there but the challenges were pretty boring for the most part.

Taiwan has been fun so far. Would love to see more realtime in the VR challenges rather than have it edited.

Gretal and Epiphany have been amazing. I can’t help but comment that it looks like Gretal communicates with us the audience in the confessionals in such a different way to when she was a presenter on BB. She doesn’t connect with us so much as bonding with her daughter. It feels like she really got messed up by BB after it all fell apart and she wanted nothing to do with presenting - and that part of her kind of disappeared.

That said, there were some real OG Gretal moments coming out. For example in Taiwan at the techno robot thing and the crowd was cheering, that really spurred her spirits, and she really loved it! Her wonderful personality shines in particular moments. She is definitely a doting mama above all.

I was surprised to hear from my Mom that she will be hosting the traitors! When did this decision come about? I guess the amazing race experience might have given her some
motivation to be in front of cameras again in a reprised role?

I’m a fan boy of Gretal and Epiphany of course. Then probably Aisha just because she is such a warm spirit and she used to say “it’s amazing” so many times when she was on “im a celebrity get me out of here”. Then the two tik-tokkers are fun too.

The Curries or Rob & Georgie can go next.
