Big Brother 2006 on official YouTube Channel (Live-streamed 26-28 Sep & 3-5 Oct)

All I can see is Kris in the booth next to Nick shuffling through the same prompt cards everytime a housemate speaks.
There's been points where I'm not sure he's even in the booth and they're just playing pre-recorded audio.

ie when Katie was evicted and Jamie was left in the Exit Room, Big Brother addressed Jamie as "Housemate still in the exit room" rather than by name.

Chat is much more enjoyable than the season is tbh.

Earlier chat was talking about how John Howard wanted Ten to cancel Big Brother after watching Adults Only and getting size envy when seeing Jamie. He didn't want the public to know that they could be that big, so that way he felt more like a man.
How the whole government interference in the decision to cancel Uncut/AO wasn’t a controversy in itself is beyond me… Also chilling how it still seems to linger over the show to this day.

I’ve found myself dipping in and out of this season’s marathon the least so far. Honestly, I think despite it being full of a lot natural drama, there is something very…frustrating…about it.

Between the constant twists, ridiculous stunts (the lie detector and under the radar specials were some the biggest loads of bullshit in BBAU), the neverending stream of annoying housemates, Gretel’s attitude and BB being IRRITATING AF during the Nominations episodes, this season is actually quite unwatchable. In my opinion.

Honestly, same. My memory is quite liking this season even on rewatches but it feels like it’s dragging a lot, maybe it’s not landing in a marathon setting as well. I have just had it on in the background here and there, the filler episodes are just the worst.

I really can’t stand BB during the nominations. I know it was designed to make it hard for the HMs but it just ruins ot for viewers when this episode sort of already sucks.

The fact we are at the week of Gaelan’s eviction and it’s still apparently 4 hours until the event and another 3 hours before the interview tells me there is just so much filler to sit through.

I didn’t rewatch it as recently but would that not have just been so the HMs already in the lounge didn’t know who it was returning til they appeared? So they can capture their reactions?

There has never been an instance or reason for them to ever broadcast a pre-recorded BB voice into the house. It’s also not logical.

I don’t dislike this season and the cast is a million times better than the previous but also I can see the decline in real time, certainly fuelled partly by Gretel also seeing this

I would assume they could have the BB voice feed into certain rooms only, otherwise when they were being spoken to in secret rooms, HMs would know what was going on. Also, when BB said "Katie, you have been evicted..."

Obviously, but it’s most likely it was fed to either the whole house in that circumstance or to avoid sound bleed.

Yes surely feels obvious that that was said so the HMs knew someone was about to return but not who. Makes so much more sense than saying Jamie.

And if they were going to pre record then why not just pre record all the names anyway.

How did Claire float so far into this season? When the marathon started I drew a complete blank on her. She was such a nonentity. And now they've added three more fucking intruders. I agree, this season sucks.

I can’t with Claire’s voice. I know she can’t help it but makes it hard to take on anything she says. And yet she is still on tv, or was a few years ago, unsure if her show is still on.

She had a show???

Yes the name escapes me but it was about Sea World and the life of the vets there but the part I once saw against my will seemed to focus on the personal lives of the vets as I saw her out to dinner with her partner. So I’m not totally sure what the point of the show was.

Thanks. I'm unsure what the point of Claire was tbh.

Meanwhile I saw Jamie saying if he was evicted he was looking for ward to having more than three beers, so I guess the limits on alcohol started during the course of this season.

It’s quite hard to imagine Claire consistently standing out to make it onto the show. I know they want a mix of characters but I can’t work out what they were hoping to get from Claire.

It's certainly not pre-recorded, but earlier David mentioned there were many different voices aside from the three that we hear, including a posh British lady. I wouldn't put it past them to dub certain episodes for consistency, though I'm not sure, or how they'd even pick which voice they were going to use in the dub. The US version uses a sound board in the rare occurrence you hear BB speak, and it absolutely sounds spliced and chopped together.
I agree, this season sucks.
I personally think this is one of the stronger seasons of the show. At least for me. I've been prioritising it over watching the dumpster fire thats airing in the UK right now. I have some faint memories of BB7 which I think I've only rewatched once since it originally aired. I will probably skip BB8 almost entirely, and I'm sure I won't be the only one. BB6 was still in the bracket of peak BB, and the longer runs make for a grueling marathon. I'm still making my way through last weekends run. I can only take so much in one go now after so many weeks of watching it. I never thought I'd say it, but I'm getting a little Big Brother fatigue lol.

You know what I really dislike about the Kris Noble years the most? The amount of really blokey guys that all just clung together like a pack of school boys on the sports oval.

Agreed, it made it not enjoyable to watch and surely isolated a lot of viewers since it’s not particularly entertaining and more so a lot people hate that IRL.
