Big Brother 2006 on official YouTube Channel (Live-streamed 26-28 Sep & 3-5 Oct)

Trivia at the time for Anna was she was in the music video for TVRock ft. Seany B 'Flaunt It' which was a huge Australian hit that year (it came out before she was in the house) and went #1 (oh those were the days lol).

Also John I remember had that oddly specific phobia about ketchup/tomato sauce (it has a name: Mortuusequusphobia) didn't he. I think it came up at some point as well as was the Mexican flag getting stuff thrown at it on FNL debacle this season? Might've come up there also.

I think one of the guys at one of my old workplaces had it, to the point of it seems irrational but they can have a strong aversion to being in the same vicinity to it/touching or viewing its consistency etc in a similar way to someone who's an extreme arachnaphobe will want to escape the room if you bring out a spider (or that lady on Jeremy Kyle who had the phobia of olives) even a fake one they will probably get unnerved by it.

I went to school with too many people that also have this phobia. I always struggled to take it seriously, but three of my closest friends would react irrationally to being near it. I guess they were being genuine, maybe...
 
I don’t see it with Anna, but honestly her constantly yelling and screaming in anger is a little bit lesbian coded. But I’m fairly certain that is just her being feisty.
 
Unfortunately I didn’t get to watch much of this over the weekend but from what I did see I don’t dislike Jamie as much as I remember. Camilla is still a more worthy winner but on the back of 05’s atrocious selection men (minus Tim and Michael) Jamie actually seems like a decent guy and brings a bit to the show. Still a pretty crappy winner though but better than all the previous male winners.
 
from what I recall for me I think it was around the time Katie was evicted and then the very next week Jamie and Rob have a bit of a clash over something or other and Rob goes is when Jamie started coming up more in his own character I think. Funnily enough those were the only two weeks he was up for eviction until the end (discounting the last FNL 3 point twist round where he was able to save himself) taking a quick look back at the noms table.

I remember that week thinking it could've perhaps been either/or who the public would side with (even though Rob had the Intruder tag also) against Camilla who had already survived a number of evictions at that point.
 
Can someone with more skills and resources than myself estimate roughly when the turkey slap will occur over the weekend? I missed so much last weekend but it would be good to see this moment “live” so to speak. I know it will be uploaded later and I have sone an rewatch a few times anyway, but knowing others are watching it at the same has surprisingly brought me so much joy during these marathons!

Turkey slap gate wasn't aired. It was only shown on the live feed which is how the public even knew about it. I don't recall specifically but the lead up and aftermath is vaguely addressed.

Ashley and John were ejected day 70, so I'd expect mid weekend.
 
I wonder what the internal fallout was at the time though. Someone was presumably in charge of the live feeds and should have cut away from that. I wonder if anyone lost their job. Also, would it have been swept under the carpet had the footage not been streamed? Obviously they would still have had to address it with the HMs concerned but maybe just given strikes to the two guys? And on the show referring to it as "inappropriate behaviour" or something? The whole season could have played out differently.

I feel it would've leaked eventually - hm's disclosing after the fact and such.

I'm not sure about Australia but the reason the UK doesn't do 24 hour live feeds anymore is they have to have lawyers on the clock to determine what's appropriate to air. If I remember it was on a ~15 minute delay at the time. Someone must've not been paying attention when that made it to the live stream. If not lost their job, someone definitely got in trouble. Makes me wonder if the crew member fired for david's obsession had anything to do with it since david was evicted after their ejection. Idk if they're even related.

Thanks, although this is rather vague lol. Morning? Afternoon? Evening? Night time?

And yes I am aware it wasn’t aired but it was still part of the episode, I recall the rogue traders concern and John and Ashley were called to the diary room and Mike Goldman gave a non-descript explanation and they were never seen again, HMs realised after hours and were all told in the diary room. THAT is what I am wanting to see. They were interviewed afterwards by Gretel as well, I’m not sure if that will be included in the stream.

It’s is not that they “can’t” it is simply because they don’t want them 24/7. 10 will also have to pay for a specialized content screener but they see value in bringing them back full time. ITV however doesn’t see the same value. Keeping the show sanitized is apparently better value to them. As I said in my op-ed as Australias lowest rated commercial network 10 can afford some controversy and in fact it might actually benefit them.

There was a rhetoric at the time by some that placed blame on Camilla and that poor Ashley and John were victims and just having fun and couldn’t she just be cool, even though it was entirely production and not her. I don’t imagine society has moved past this line of thinking but hopefully.

In terms of the episode numbering system on TVDB, etc, the John & Ashley "Special Interview", as it is termed, is coincidentally Episode 100.
I heard them say last weekend's stream ended on the Day 50 Daily Show, so I'd say the Day 72 Interview would probably be Saturday morning, but that's a complete guess.

I think you’d be hard pressed to find someone pulling a stunt like that in the first place let alone having people react to it.

I also think the overall reaction to it was completely overblown. Having the footage readily available is actually a good thing… It’s clear exactly what happened, how it happened, who was at fault, and what the consequences were. There also shouldn’t have been the amount of political pressure applied to 10 that there was. Lastly heads should have rolled when 10 got thier hand slapped for things that happened in the 2005 series and greater reforms for the series should have happened for 2006. Obviously what they did put in place wasn’t enough.

As for blaming Camila if you look at any modern sexual assault cases there’s always going to be some amount of people who refuse to see who’s actually at fault for things that happen. In Canada we recently had several high profile Hockey players acquitted of sexual assault and there’s all sorts of opinions about it.

I couldn't be certain as I haven't seen where the stream was ended this past weekend. Assuming we're half way through the season as of Sunday, day 70 would be just after half way through the second half. So I would assume part 6/part 7.

If anything you'll be able to scrub back through the live feed to see it if you miss it.

You're sassy huh? lol. I knew what she was getting at but I can't wager a guess what day or time of day that specific day 70 episode will play in the marathon. I'm still playing catch up from last weekend.
