Big Brother 2002 on official YouTube channel (Live streamed Aug 8-10)

Can anyone who watched the 2002 livestream marathon confirm if the “Intruders Unleashed” special was shown? It aired between Daily Shows 22 and 23 (Days 30 and 31), and was hosted live by Gretel Killeen. It featured Nicole, Brodie and Kieran entering the house live. There’s even mention of this at the very end of the Daily Show episode.

However, it has not been uploaded to the official YouTube playlist at all. Does anyone know if there’s a reason why it’s missing?

I was kinda skipping through the live stream but I'm pretty sure I saw that with Gretel, and them going in (not just from the next daily ep), hopefully someone can back me up there.

I'm 99% sure it was a part of the livestream, as I had mates over watching it and I made a comment about Gretel and Kieren, but I was several bourbons deep at the time.

Can confirm it aired before Eviction 3 on the stream, but I think it was supposed to run off the back of the live eviction in real time "the show continues" as Gretel says.
Is this the one you are referring to?

Nah, that’s online. We’re referring to Intruders Unleashed (when they actually entered the house) and aired on Day 30, after this Daily Show.

The following Daily Show is online (the recap of them entering), but the actual live special with Gretel is missing.

Ah yes sorry! I’ll check again.

Confirming no it wasn't on the stream.

Thinking back, the missing Intruders Unleashed episode from Day 30 is actually a lot more significant than just the new HMs entering.

Halfway through that live special is when Turkan had a mental breakdown (and therefore taking the thunder from the Intruders ). About a third of the special became just a live stream from the house, with her in the Diary Room announcing she'd decided to quit the show, followed by a live stream of her breaking down to Peter in the bedroom. (They even kept Carmel Hill in the studio with Gretel to watch and discuss the meltdown as it happened.) Another unexpected turn of events that was all captured live and went to air in realtime.

I doubt that has something to do with why it isn't uploaded to YouTube... but maybe?

Oh, interesting... as someone who didn't watch the season as it happened, I always assumed that part was kinda delivered as a "live update" on Rove, 'cause Gretel talking to Rove is the clip they always seemed to use. 😃

I guess the fact they even did a live linkup between Gretel and Rove shows how big of a deal it was at the time.

I’m not stupid, lol. I didnt say lost media. ;)

Then I mistook your comment, sorry about that.

I meant their original master tape is probably lost (or damaged), like the BB01 specials and half of the BB04 Daily Shows.

My theory is much more profane: I think they were not just using Kevin's videos to replace damaged tapes (like the BB04 daily shows) but also his lists to compile their streams in the first place... any episode that was missing from the streams and hasn't been acknowledged by the team (e.g. the BB01 specials), have been missing from Kevin's uploads as well. Same goes for Intruders Unleashed.

Not true at all. The episode is definitely included in his set (see Week 5, Day 30). As are the other "missing" episodes, except the Secrets special which closes out 2001 (it's very rare but is still online elsewhere).

You have to give them credit - they hold the literal original tapes, with dates and episode numbers logged on and within every tape. They may miss something here and there, but they would absolutely have a list of episodes somewhere. How do you think they're able to piece it all together chronologically? (I presume the Daily Show tapes are separate from any live broadcast, such as Evictions etc. So they've had to re-order the seasons.)

In fact, their uploads have finally given us the 2001 Day 15 Daily Show, and I think a couple episodes from 2002, that were never captured originally and hadn't been seen since they first aired. So there's small wins.

You're right... I was too stupid and only checked the column C in his excel sheet, which didn't mention the title (because it's mentioned in column D). My bad... again.
All good! I'm actually currently working on a little (big) something, that should rectify all the timeline errors that have popped up over the years and, hopefully, provide us with a very definitive master list moving forward.

It's just ridiculously time consuming, obviously... but 8 of 17 seasons to go.

I had a look at some Usenet NZB search engines out of curiosity a week or so ago, but there are no Usenet providers that have 20 year retention. The earliest I found were episodes from 2006 in glorious 320p, at which resolution were probably themselves scraped from Youtube at some stage. Not even sure what I expected to find really.
