Big Brother Australia upscaled and enhanced
To all who have been following my Daily Motion channal has also been pul down by Big Brother Channel 10, a lot of money any had been put into the BB files to make them watchable again. I gest it is all over for anyone who wish to post recording they may have had stored away.

Nope. Some lasted a couple of years but most were over in a few months.
Well, this refers to the channel 10 and 9 series. I have no clue about channel 7.
I think Lawson and Cat from 2014 may have lasted the longest

Yeah I was impressed for a while, I really didn’t see their chemistry but that is likely due to the terrible editing of the show, and I felt their age gap might work against them and although they didn’t last they did pretty well. Maybe their season being such a fizzer actually helped, with much less interest and pressure.
I haven’t clicked that link but Trevor and Aisha lasted a year or so and I feel like going way back Susannah and Thomas actually lasted a few years as well.
They’re definitely listening to us. I went back through the uploads and noticed they started keeping the end credits in from Daily Show 30 onwards. That feels like about the same time we would have been talking about it here.

Something I’ve always found interesting, which has now been absolutely confirmed by the official release of this season, is the misconception that the series premiered on April 23 2001. If you Google when Big Brother Australia started, this date is almost universally mentioned nearly everywhere online as when the first episode aired. It’s actually incorrect!
The first episode went to air on Tuesday April 24, not Monday.
This aligns because in Daily Show 3 (Day 3) the HMs talk about it being Anzac Day - this is footage from the previous day on April 25. I also think there might’ve been a misunderstanding for all these years that a Daily Show from the first week was “missing” in the unofficial captures because there’s normally five per week, but we now know there’s always only ever been four episodes (Tue-Fri) before the Nominations special, which aired on the first Sunday.
In addition to this, I uncovered an excerpt from an original TV guide from that week. This also confirms the first episode went to air on the Tuesday.
So… why April 23 is listed as the premiere date on basically every other website, including Wikipedia, is beyond me. This ain’t no Mandela Effect! lol. I guess the series technically commenced production on April 23, but the broadcast/first episode did not premiere til the next day. Anyone know how we can amend it?
EDIT: Also found this magazine scan - “debuts Tuesday”.

More backup: in Daily Show 4, Blair says “we got in here on the 23rd (of April)”. The launch was recorded on this date, not broadcast.

Pre-recorded launch. Real world things started on the 23rd, but didn't start airing until the 24th.
I assume thats where its come from.
That’s exactly what I said.
But doesn’t change my point: that many websites incorrectly list April 23 as the “premiere”, “first episode” and “started airing on Network Ten on” date, which is not the same thing. The Wikipedia pages are particularly incorrect.
The other seasons don’t list the pre-record date as when the season started airing.
EDIT: 2006 is the only other season with the wrong start date, every other season correctly lists the right first airdate.

Feel free to correct them, and note that S3 was the only season that had a live launch.
Did anyone happen to grab a copy of the censored/shortened version of the Uncut episode(s) that were briefly uploaded to the BB channel before they got deleted?

Took this advice, by the way. I've just made some amendments to the series overview and each season's pages on Wikipedia. I corrected the premiere to accurately reflect the true air date of 24 April 2001, as well as added the total number of episodes for every season. (I did a lot of calculations/cross-checking, so I'm 99% I've now got these totals right...
)I'm gonna go ahead and list them here for posterity's sake, just in case anyone messes with the Wikipedia page in the future or if anyone notices a major discrepancy. Regular episode numbers per season include Daily Shows, any in-season special eps and all companion shows (i.e. Evictions, Uncut, FNL, etc). While any pre-season and post-season specials, as well as UpLate (and Seven's companion shows), are noted separately in parenthesis. Pretty certain everything is covered.
2001 - Season 1: 100 (96 episodes + 4 specials: 'Revealed', 'Wrap Party', 'Evicted: Life In The Real World' & 'Secrets')
2002 - Season 2: 101 (100 episodes + 1 special: 'Housemates: Who Will They Be?')
2002 - Celebrity: 20
2003 - Season 3: 180 (123 episodes + 55 'UpLate' + 2 specials: 'Reggie Rules' & 'Would You? Could You? Should You?')
2004 - Season 4: 164 (109 episodes + 55 'UpLate')
2005 - Season 5: 210 (140 episodes + 70 'UpLate')
2006 - Season 6: 205 (135 episodes + 70 'UpLate')

One of the good things about Wikipedia is you can easily compare current and previous edits, and just as easily revert any bogus edits if you need to. Good for you correcting it all though.
Just looking at S3, I think this could be reworked a bit:
The season lasted 86 days, starting on 27 April 2003 and ending on 21 July 2003, being notable as the only Big Brother Australia season to ever have its launch aired live. The season was the most complicated to date with housemates starting in two separate houses - a "round house" and a "square house". During the launch, housemate Benjamin Archbold was sent in first (and went on to spend the entire first day by himself in the round house), while five housemates were introduced to the square house. Additional housemates were then introduced daily in a series of live shows across the first week.
That's right isn't it? I haven't edited the article, just putting it here for confirmation first.

This also gives me every bit of confidence that not only have they just been digitising the old seasons but also logging and taking notes of significant moments, funny quotes, etc. Some of these are so minor and niche. Very good.

Just on the topic of logging significant or funny moments, I've recently found out that Big Brother has an official channel on Giphy where they have uploaded GIFs. It only covers BB01 so far, but I hope they update it with moments from more of the classic seasons.
