Yes agreed. I really can’t imagine something from so long ago that was designed to air once and never be seen again being dissected again all these years later. Yes they agreed to go on the show and have it broadcast but not for it be re-released later, especially when they have families and careers and have just generally moved on. This could also be said for the show itself but it’s unlikely to be too incriminating.

Whenever I’ve done a rewatch I find myself quite bored during the adults only episodes, but maybe that says more about me lol. I watch them regardless but I’m often tempted to skip them, I think of my much younger self who didn’t get to see them for earlier years and so I power through. But I do realise I might be the tiny minority there.

I think respectfully discussing the situation is one thing but taking about it like it’s not 20 years in the past is another.Yes agreed. IMO uncut was great in bb01 but from 02-04 there isn’t much that’s too memorable. 05 it picks up again but that’s probably because of the type of cast present for the season.Whenever I’ve done a rewatch I find myself quite bored during the adults only episodes, but maybe that says more about me lol. I didn't get much of a chance to watch this weekend. Battlefield 6 Beta, so you know. Priorities when I have time to waste.
Any standouts or new observations?

Man I'm shattered that it looks like they won't be posting the celebrity one. It would seriously be surreal to see that in watchable quality...
Never know… hopefully down the track.Man I'm shattered that it looks like they won't be posting the celebrity one. It would seriously be surreal to see that in watchable quality...
Maybe if Ten eventually puts together their own new CBB, it might be what they upload in the lead-up.

very good point... there's probs more restrictions on sharing it because of that... :/The celebs probably got better deals over use of the footage in the future which may block a formal release
I think it's amazing that the celebrity one did better than actual seasons: 7-15 lol...

Wow - they smashed out uploading the entire season in a matter of hours, including the specials not included in the livestream*!
Such a shame most of the tapes seem to be partially damaged. Though, I’m sort of okay with it considering it’s still a huge upgrade from what we previously had. I honestly appreciate how transparent and good they’re being about it all:

At the end of the day, we could still not have any of these archived publicly at all. The fact we’re getting them is something I genuinely NEVER thought would happen in our lifetime. So can’t complain.
*This makes me believe the 2001 post-season Revealed special really is lost, sadly. At least for now.

I agree, I like how they have taken the time to add timestamps where the videos have problems.Wow - they smashed out uploading the entire season in a matter of hours, including the specials not included in the livestream*!

BB, if you’re reading this - the upload titled ‘Nominations E11’ is incorrectly named.
That’s the ‘The Final Countdown’ special.
Also, for those who watched the livestream on the weekend, did every episode have the same glitches? These glitches appear in just about every individual upload, for quite significant lengths of time. Was it the same the other day, or did those broadcast smoothly?

I keep on running planning,running planning,ohyeah
Yeah, I really hope this new run on 10 recaptures the spirit of the early seasons. The Channel 9 version felt too sanitised, they really pushed the family-friendly angle, the show felt contrived, and it felt like they were treating the audience like children. The Channel 7 version doesn’t count for anything. Hopefully all of our BB dreams will come true this time.God, I miss this era of Big Brother. Hopefully this reboot is similar. Not like the channel 9/7 ones, I know it won't be the same but I'll take similar.

I actually kind of liked the root man stuff in 04. That cast was obviously not gonna be running around naked much so it was quite a fun thing to do. Also came at a time whereby we weren't nearly as saturated by superhero movies/shows as we are now. But yes 2005 was something quite different lol.IMO uncut was great in bb01 but from 02-04 there isn’t much that’s too memorable. 05 it picks up again but that’s probably because of the type of cast present for the season.
I didn't watch a lot of it, but the only glitching I saw was like bad tracking horizontal glitch you'd get from a video tape about 1/4 from the top of the screen. And it was pretty consistent throughout the weekend. Kinda weird all the tapes had the same issue though, but if it was a playback issue... well they'd be using multiple decks to play back multiple tapes wouldn't they? So I don't think it would be that. Also, for those who watched the livestream on the weekend, did every episode have the same glitches?
I’m not an expert at converting analogue tapes to digital but I do know a little, and to me it looks like the result of losing signal during the transfer. The most likely cause is the VHS tape having imperfections like image waves or too much data noise, in addition to a Time Base Corrector (TBC) not being used during the transfer.I didn't watch a lot of it, but the only glitching I saw was like bad tracking horizontal glitch you'd get from a video tape about 1/4 from the top of the screen. A TBC is hardware used to stabilise those analogue signals and smooths out VHS issues to output a cleaner digital image.
Of-course if a TBC was used during the transfer, which it should’ve been, then those tapes must actually be damaged. The digitised result is what we’re currently seeing.
