Big Brother teased in new Channel 10 2025 promo

I was thinking the other day... I wonder how many people even know the BBAU theme is based on the original Dutch theme tune from 1999? 😬 (Skip to ~45 seconds if you don't want to hear the whole thing.)

Maybe everyone knows, considering BBUSA also used it for a year, but still. I always found it cool that BBAU clung to some of its OG BB branding, including using the franchise logo on-screen until... I guess BB8? Compared to BBUK that just threw the whole lot out.

yeah, 2008 didn't feature the original oval logo anymore... but instead had flashes of the UK eye logo in it.

Regarding the original theme song: Probably sounds better without the vocals in it. And fun fact: The Brazilian and the Albanian version still use a remix of this theme in their intro. Germany used the local hip hop cover for their most recent civilian reboot last year and this year... and went through three different theme songs before BBAU even premiered.

Just saw that MasterChef is coming into its final weeks, thank FUCK for that. Started April 28th... I assume maybe 2 or 3 weeks left.

4 months! A third of the year has been MasterChef 🤯

Wait... what? I never knew this.

Edit: Damn. It is in there.

I just had a thought.

With Ten’s approach to the new series emphasising a return to the show’s roots and ringing in nostalgia, I wonder if there’s a chance we’ll actually get one (last?) proper appearance by Gretel.

Ten have been clever about snagging her as a contestant on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race. And with both Peter Abbott and Mike Goldman rumoured to be returning to BBAU this year, is it far fetched to speculate that Gretel might finally be persuaded to pop up at least once in the revival?

She’s generally pretty coy about providing opinions but this seems like a great opportunity to step out of that box and at least discuss some opinions about how the show can try and recapture the essence of the original series.

I don't really see why she'd want to or why they'd need her too. Let Mel have a chance to shine outside of Gretel's shadow.
Don’t know if she needs to be involved in an official capacity but I do think bringing her in to the fold to pass the torch or as I said in my last post to actually give an opinion for once would be a nice touch. I don’t think it would overshadow Mel by any means.
