The OG BB Theme

We've had the full 2001 theme for years now, but the cool thing about the upload is we can grab the thumbnail for the video for a high res version of the eye they've been using.

BB Instagram posted the clip of Sara Marie drunkenly making fish fingers and then going into the bedroom to eat them because she felt lonely (and made ALOT of noise) while Ben and I think Blair slept. Hilarious!

this moment has been laughed about between my family members since the very day it aired. I will forever think of Sara-Marie when I eat a fish finger. The Nostalgia is magical!

Here is the clip for anyone reading on mobile. Instagram and TikTok make you have to watch it on the app (which you have to download) when viewing it on a mobile, which is really annoying. Sara Marie is a classic.

Looking back it really is shocking that Sara Marie didn’t win

Had it been vote to win out of the final 3 I suspect she would have done. For all the nostalgia around BB1 there isn't really any around the winner. Indeed of all the winners in the original era I'd say there is only really Reggie that ticks that box.

Has there been any comment from BB1 housemates or indeed staff over the last 48 hours?

I wonder who the new eye belongs to? Pre BB1 10 aired a special about the build up to the show arriving in Australia and there was a quick segment on who's eyes were originally photographed with the thicker eyebrows. I think it's on YouTube. Also covered the construction of the house.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching 10 run the BB1 marathon as they digitised the series. Need to get back on once they're uploaded to catch up on what I missed. In the YT chat they said the digitising team needs a break, so I'm curious when they'll start running season 2. Hoping we'll have access to the Saturday shows (which I completely forgot about and don't remember) and of course Uncut. I hope someone manages to downloaded the series in full as I doubt it'll remain on YouTube forever.

It's a good thing they're doing this since magnetic tapes don't last forever. You hit 20-25 years and they start degrading.

They hid them again, Here's the first 4 episodes that are unlisted they were uploaded on the 29th. Looks like they were in the process of uploading episode 5 a few mins ago:

I knew I should have ripped the live stream. Much better original quality.

In 2001, the show was not shot or produced in a resolution that would look good today. We had HD TV back then, but most people watched in SD and HD displays were smaller and not full HD. There isn't going to be some extremely good looking version of the show that exists. It was also probably produced at a lower quality than the cameras captured due to the tight production turn around.

Watching the stream, you could tell different cameras were different resolutions and quality.

It's weird how it all worked with old TVs and the resolutions. We used to watch VHS and think it was fine. Now load it up on a screen and it's potato quality.

Even this stream, watching on my second monitor, or my big flat screen. It didn't look great. Watching on my phone it look perfectly fine.
