It can be just one thing that defines a season, so just like the two house twist is why I view 2003 very favourably (though it was a central component of the series), for me 2007 had the best task BBAU ever did with the "Number 1" task. Looking back now it was probably a bit rubbish actually, but it felt far more creative at the time than most of the weekly tasks both BBAU and BBUK were doing.I really liked 2007. Before I watched these with my mum all those years ago I read about a few of them and 2007 was the one that interested me the most.

Have really enjoyed the first week so far, the cast is really great like I remembered. My favourite thing so far is for the first time in a long while there is a lot of story telling mixed in with in house drama. I love Aleisha, she's so cute and I can see how she won. Up to Friday Night Live, the Ginger Ninja has been birthed and wow that is a major flashback to my childhood.

Really loving the rewatch so far still. There's a bit I wanted to write but I was too focused on the daily shows lol. This is the first season where I am DEEPLY engrossed.
Firstly, I do like the idea of the white room twist. I have said before I don't like twists that involve potential housemates entering the/a house and not getting to stay, but I am trying to look at this as more of a later audition stage. I like the concept and I find it hilarious that they all lasted so long and had production spinning. It was fun to see the constant live stream played to the house, it's very "Gogglebox". Demet has just entered at the point I am up to and I personally feel she was the most boring or least entertaining of the white room housemates. I would have preferred Harrison enter. Even Kara, she seemed like she would have been a train wreck. I cannot believe Cruz took $750. He was also going to take the initial $500 offer but he moved his hand after the buzzer.
Hayley and Andrew's relationship was a lot more fun than Krystal/Karen and the Bogan twins. Adding Billy in was a fun concept that on paper I do like. Jamie's thinking of their prefix and similar photo paper on their family photos is just insane. I would have never in my life thought about that. There seemed to be some rule changing with their reward/punishment. Initially it was said they had to go undetected then it was decided they had to be undetected by a majority of the house. And why did one have to be evicted on Day 31 when they passed? Glad Billy stayed though, such a spunk.
The Kate situation is very yucky though. The fact the producers knew about it is very inconsiderate. Just because she may have hinted she thought she was over it does not indicate how she may have reacted when faced with the situation. I almost felt bad for disliking her thought out the first week.
The cast so far is really strong and I like that the sexy singles theme was ditched in favour of casting some fun people. I hope I continue to enjoy it like I am. Really looking forward to Zach coming in !

Krystal: . Also, whoever told her that her eviction hairdo looked good is a bad friend. Why would you intentionally want to look like a poodle on national TV?
Oh wow yeah, I recall IDK if it was at the time here or somewhere else there was a comparison photo side by side of this outfit and the Hair got a little bit puffier, and the Cats eye eyeliner got way more exaggerated around the side of her face on later times Krystal was up.

Yeah the Kate thing was not a good look, already another bit of a scandal after 2006, and then they also had to contend with all the ethical dilemma and media scrutiny around Emma being (at her request) kept in the dark about her Dad's passing. Although it did bring light onto things as a 19 Year old at this season's airing, I don't think I had heard of Pre-Eclampsia (especially not by its technical name like that anyway), and have since heard more about it through various sources.
The White Room Finale was a bit Manipulated too - Did they have the housemates vote planned all along or they really wanted Demet and went oh Shoot when predictably Harrison won the big elaborate FNL set up?
Think as mentioned before Hayley left because there was too much of a Power Trio dynamic with Them and Billy. I Think Andrew should have left instead though I think Hayley would have been a bit more interesting to watch a little later down the road (assuming she lasted that long).

I cannot believe fans at the time had the cheek to say this season was boring, it's nothing of the sort. at 9:17 there is a massive fight, probably the biggest since Merlin and Paul, between Bodie and the couple. I strangely remembered Hayley an Andrew being close with Bodie's group, but in actual fact Bodie and Hayley DESPISED each other.
For context, early week 2 Bodie told Hayley he thought she was playing the game and she took great offence to it and never got over it. Over the weekend he, Emma, TJ and Joel were in the Diary Room and he told Big brother he thought they were fake and that Andrew is under Hayley's thumb. TJ then repeated it to them and the fight erupted.
Bodie was such a fun character, so immature and it made great TV. TJ was PSYCHO so the fact they both went in the double sucks. I can deal with losing TJ, but Bodie gets so fucked over for it being a double. He could have well lasted a bit longer, probably into the double when Emma goes if he stayed. That's probably the major issue I have had with the season is that there were too many doubles.
Hayley and Andrew really tried to pretend like they didn't have an advantage in the house, Bodie was right in telling them that if he has a problem with one he's gonna have a problem with both. What ever a situation was they were both going to end up involved in each others situations as well. A bit rich of Hayley to also assume she deserved Billy's loyalty, he owed her nothing.
Enjoying the watch nonetheless.
One of the most entertaining fights of BBAU! I'd have loved to see this play out on the live streams though. Apparently the argument went for a couple of hours and, when I re-watched this last year, I noticed there's proof of time-jumping in this episode. It doesn't air chronologically.
Interestingly, if you watch the scene VERY closely (pay attention to the mirrors in the bedroom) you can actually see how pieced together and, do I dare say, edited it all is. (Cue Gretel: "Listen mate..."

It's also a shame Adult's Only had gone by this season. It's known that TJ gave Bodie a blowjob the night they slept in the same bed before they got doubly evicted.
The infamous "TJ BJ".

Good pick up, I didn't even notice that. The daily show was also seeming to edit Bodie as positively as possible. Gretel also brings back the "vote for the house you want to watch not the one you want to live in" she hasn't said this in a while so it is clear production wanted to save Bodie. Showing the graph very early as well and lots of Gretel emphasising to "vote to save". Major desperate attempts to save him. Honestly fuck vote to evict, it fucks over so many great housemates this year.Interestingly, if you watch the scene VERY closely (pay attention to the mirrors in the bedroom) you can actually see how pieced together and, do I dare say, edited it all is. (Cue Gretel: "Listen mate...") Every time they cut to TJ and Zoran in the bathroom (implying they're in there while the argument is happening concurrently outside) they cut back to the bedroom but you can actually see both TJ and Zoran in the background on the other side of the room in almost every second shot. Then later they show the pair exit the bathroom, which must've actually occurred earlier in the timeline. It would be great to see the full, unedited scene.
I think Mike Goldman alluded to this in his narration by saying "Bodie and TJ slept toe to tail in the same bed".It's also a shame Adult's Only had gone by this season. It's known that TJ gave Bodie a blowjob the night they slept in the same bed before they got doubly evicted.

Completely unnecessary. Too many housemates for this series. The golden key winner is also so clearly copied from the same twist in BBUK7. TJ going was probably inescapable but Bodie going just sucks the fun out of it. I'm also only a week away from Hayley leaving as well so I am concerned that the fun of the series is short-lived.Yes, Bodie and TJ going in a completely unnecessary early double really did the series no favours at all.

Looking at the graph I think it's very easy to guess that Joel was the one on the bottom and Zoran was almost evicted. During the half an hour the lines were open from the graph being shown to lines closing, the gap between Bodie and Zoran went from 14% to 5%, if only he survived.
I have always looked at Big Brother housemates in four different categories in terms of what votes they receive and how many. And this specific graph with these specific nominees helps show that visually.
The first type of housemate I would say is someone who is genuinely disliked by the audience, getting low save votes and high evict votes, very unlikely to ever survive an eviction and will never win. These are housemates like TJ, Kate and maybe someone like a Karen even. Maybe even a Tully?
Next is the type of housemate who the audience just does not care about, they are barley shown in the daily shows or are just uninteresting. They would attract low votes to save and low votes to evict and depending on the system would either last a decent while or go very early. I see people like Zoran, Elise, Peter or Patrick fit into this category.
Then there is also the type of housemate who are universally loved, people who are clear shots to win and will always do well. People that get high save votes and low evict votes. A really hard feat to not only achieve but to also maintain across the entire season but possible. The obvious answer is someone like Reggie and Joel shown here
Then finally you have the polarising housemates, who dominate airtime and divide viewers. They get high votes to evict and high votes to save and also depending on the system used will either go early or last a while. Bodie obviously being one of these housemates. There are people like Nathan, Michael and Katie as well as Bodie who all may have lasted longer had vote to save been used. Then, there are also people like Estelle, Tim and Tahan who all may have been early evictees had vote to evict been used.
So that then poses the question, which is better? I think the obvious answer is vote to save. You have idiot teenagers who spent their pocket money voting for this show, vote out the ones they get annoyed with and then complain when the show would get boring.

I honestly don’t know why Zoran didn’t go, in fact he went to last til nearly the final week. TJ & Bodie were robbed so badly and truly hated how the audience willingly let them go. There are a number of people who should’ve went earlier than they did. Example being Andrew, Zoran, maybe even Thomas (but I guess he was like a model or something and good to look at and also had Susannah).

The episode of the Golden Key Winner is hilarious. The BBBA Podcast roasts it's bizarre running by Gretel complete with soundbites from how the 'Allens' competition chance draws was absolutely Not won 'from the radio' as one lady in the audience suggests, then hurrying the poor stagehands along 'quick quick quick Golden boy' LOL

I remember the Bodie, Aleisha, Emma and Billy clique forming but I don't remember it being to this great extent. Emma at the moment is very nasty/judgmental towards Rebecca and Jamie. It is funny too because she says to Rebecca "it's not in me to be nasty" and she said to someone else that "if people have an issue just say it to their face and don't bitch about it". Ironically she doesn't even follow her own advice. I feel sorry for Rebecca for as much as she tries, but wow you can feel the awkwardness through the screen. Jamie is also likeable to begin with but he isn't that interesting TV.Yes, the cast was a lot better and more diverse than 2005-2006 in terms of varying ages and personalities. Also very keen to hear your perspective on the “us versus them” mentality that divides the house fairly early in the season.
I found it interesting because, while entertaining from a viewer point-of-view, a lot of what is said and done definitely wouldn’t fly today, and be considered borderline bully behaviour.
I think the divide is interesting, it reflects what occurs in reality. Groups and factions do form and it tends to be people who are similar who gravitate towards each others. That's not to say all members of the cool kids group were the same per say. Emma was nasty, Bodie was inconsiderate but Billy, Joel and Aleisha were all very lovely and very liked by the group.
I look at it and I do wonder which group I would fit in with, I do think I'd gravitate towards Aleisha naturally and probably Emma. So I would end up probably getting along better with that group. Emma is a lot more nasty than I remembered though. It does make interesting viewing, the storylines are fun and also very easy to follow. I would have loved to see Zach meet Emma and Bodie, as well as Michelle too, I wonder how the dynamics would have worked. I think Emma leaving early did Aleisha much more good, especially when Zach came in for her.

I don't like that it wasn't completely random. I don't recall the show narrowing it down to five finalists based on auditions. I liked how BBUK did it with Aisleyne having to choose a numbered ball from a bingo style machine and that number would determine which candidate would enter the house completely randomly. The episode of the Golden Key Winner is hilarious. Speaking of Michelle / Daily Show edits, @Zcsund1234 when you eventually reach this moment later in the season, please come back to watch this clip in its full uncensored glory. I remember having tears from laughing at Michelle back in ‘07.
