At the end of the day the network have the final say on all aspects of the show. Seven don’t just hand over the keys after the cheque is signed and let Endemol drive. They exercise an extreme amount of control over the shows they commission.Nine would be fuming if they heard the team from their most profitable show were also working on a project for a competing network, major conflict of interest.
Most of BB’s staff aren’t full time and are on contract. If they take up work on a different project after their contract with Seven there’s no conflict. They’d also be welcome on other projects commissioned by another network under the same production house. They just can’t work multiple contacts simultaneously.
A non-compete clause would only cover situations where a person went to a different production house and started a similar project using proprietary knowledge they obtained on the original.

I'm talking about the PRODUCTION company. The tv networks do not get much of a say when the content is being produced. Sure they sign off on stuff, but once that's done, its over to Endemol to produce the series. These networks PAY these production companies to cast and produce the series. There is not some internal team at channel 7 or 10 which casts these shows and comes up with the plans for the seasons. They literally do everything from day 0 right up until broadcast. No it’s not. MAFS and BB air in different networks. Seven and Nine have no overlapping executives.

But they do. Significantly more than you think. The tv networks do not get much of a say when the content is being produced.
You clearly have no idea how much sway the networks really have on a series. In terms of Big Brother specifically, this has been proven time and time again - especially direct from the EP's of both the Ten and particularly Nine iterations. Networks control the majority of the show, that's a fact.I'm talking about the PRODUCTION company. The tv networks do not get much of a say when the content is being produced. I vote for this.Just forfeit the rights and Ten to pick it up and make it a behemoth across channels and Paramount plus!
