MAFS 2021

Were we supposed to know or care that Jake was a former AFL 'star'?
It doesn't make him deserving of being paid more, any more than Jason Roses would from being on Big Brother.
 
People continually investigating and discussing MAFS contestants need to be careful they aren't the ones who perpetuate them.

Infamy is what helped make and perpetuate people like Kyle Sandilands, Steve Price, Deryn Hinch and numerous others. They rely on people talking about them all the time to remain relevant and they wouldn't be making the millions they do without it.
 
More break down of this podcast by Oh So Dramatic. The goss is really controversial. Maybe not substantiated – comes from a variety of sources actual contestants, their friends, former colleagues etc

- before breaking up with Liam Georgia supposedly hooked up with Jason

- Sam took on advice from other female contestants and is now reappraising his behaviour. Apologised to all

- At the reunion Bryce came to it – with a paper he had written about every contestant. Things he wished to address. Never got the time to address.

- When he got into further arguments with others at the reunion Bryce fell back on this excuse – that Mel could be pregnant right now – so leave them alone

- Coco was so upset and left the reunion early during a break. Felt she had been betrayed by the producers who had actively encouraged her to pursue Cameron. Producers had even promised her that this would not be used against her.

- More evidence was produced whilst Bryce and Mel were on the couch of his infidelity. When asked if she still loved Mryce – all Mel said was she doesn't know what to say. But yet when she returned to the other seat they sat very close etc.

- Don't know if all of this is true – but this is the gossip. Sounds like it is Bec's version. Jake Edwards broke his MAFs contract when he started going out with new gf Sophie. However, he had begun this relationship BEFORE the show had finished. Jake contacted a number of women with big media social profiles whilst he was with Bec. Sophie was the only one who responded via instagram. According to Bec – Jake talked about Sophie alot. Jake in fact had sent Sophie flowers on Valentines Day. A photo of Sophie in red lingerie with THOSE flowers was deleted. Jake has now ditiched his family and friends and gone to live with Sophie on the Gold Coast. They don't approve apparently.

- During the final episode Jake claimed Bec had made no effort to see him. This was not true. Bc went to see Jake first in Melbourne after th end of filming before the reunion. When Jake went to pert he was drunk and harrassing her. Bec called the police who had to drag him away whislt Bec was trying to get into a taxi. Th reason Becs mother was hostile with Jake was because he was always drinking and aggressive.

- Jake (presumably according to bec) -did not stay in Perth only to see her. He was there for business.

- Bec and Jake did not break up over the kiss but other things and even reunited briefly after the reunion. bec introduced him to family and friends. It is claimed that Jake was often drunk and sloppy looking and none of thatever was aired.

- Bec has a text message from Jake saying he was going to move to Perth in late Feb/March for a five billion dollar charity deal. Yes – he wrote "billion".

- re the Bec hooking up with another guy video – This man wa not her ex ben. It was another ex and her friend. In Perth – the producers told her she was not allowed to eleave her home. So she asked this friend to take her dog Oscar to the vet etc. When he came in – he just grabbed her and started to kiss her but on the video you don't heare her saying – Don't get carried away.......This guy apologised. (I don't think this adds up as why did she first explain this by being a brother). Although there was apparently another video with her broher in it – so was this spliced in the edit to make it appear more juicy? At the reunion – apparently Bec also walked out upset and Jake consoled her.

- Jake and Jo – apparently went out together one night when she was with James during MAFs. Remember we heard about his trust issues? James heard Jake tell Jo that something could happen between them after filming the show.....Jake was always flirting with Jo. Apparently on the OhSO Dramatic instagram page there is a vidoe of Jake and Jo together.

- after the dinner party Liam was so distraught that he was not eating in an attempt to lose weight. He became very self conscious. In the backgrounder provided to the MAfs crew it was reealed that Liam had a very compicated family upbringing. Liam's father left them Liam was only 10 years old. Between the time when he was 11-17 – his mother experienced DV with a defacto partner. Liam was kicked out of home at 17years old after trying to defend his mother.

- half of the vow committment ceremony between Georgia and Liam was cut. After Liam walked out he returned 10 minutes later. he and Georgia had a lengthy discussion. They talked about how Georgia's brother wanted to attack Liam after the dinner party "humiliation" scene. Georgia's mother had written Georgia's vow. When Liam ame back in after walking of he apologiesd. The edits NEVER showed Liam apologising – but turns out he did. georgia told him that she loved him and she had regretted lsitening to her mother. But it was best to part ways..

- however Liam revealed that Georgia was very rehearsed. During filming her MOTHER had moved to Sydney so Georgia had somebody to confide in. Before the final vows – Georgia had also checked out Stacy (from previous MAFs season) vows – as Georgia wante dome tips. Ultimately Georgia wanted it to look like she was the heartbroken one so broke it off. So Liam did not break it off first..
 
Good round up Kaz, I’ve listened to a few episodes of that podcast. There are some scathing accounts of sexual/physical assault on former partners by Patrick and Cameron. Pictures of Belinda with her 73 year old ex Mr Ugly. She has been right about a lot of her gossip.

I am more curious about that girls utterly bizarre wardrobe than anything else on MAFS
Did she crochet the weird tea cosie outfits, did she ever belong to a circus?

It is a joke that these shows are referred to as reality TV when they are absolutely nothing of the sort.
 
Heard Bec and Bryce were both interviewed on the Kyle & Jackie O Show yesterday. Haven't heard the interview yet but the word is Bec has come clean about a few things including that it was the producers who made her aware of Bryce's other woman. Will listen to it today.
 
I listened to the interview on Kyle & Jackie O - here's what was said (my comments underlined):

  • Said that you tell the producers what you want in a man, but you don’t get it. Then after the wedding, the producers pull you aside and ask ‘So, you didn’t get what you want? How do you feel about that?’. Realised she was just a puppet. You try to leave but forced to stay.
  • Producers take their phones, so the contestants don’t talk, especially when there is rumours flying around. Sometimes they go overnight without their phones.
  • Claims her story / justification for the kissing video / secret boyfriend was edited out and footage edited to portray her as the bad guy. Said she didn’t even think it would be shown as it was that insignificant.
  • When she went home, was on strict orders to stay at her house and not leave. Was there for about 12 hours. Claims the guy came over to her and kissed her. Said it wasn’t sexual at all. She said she made a joke about ‘What are you doing, I’m married?’ and he joked ‘We’ll see about that’. (Completely innocent, non-sexual pash with her ex-boyfriend. Get fucked)
  • Brooklyn asked if it was so innocent, why did she lie and say it was her brother. She said wasn’t watching the screen at the time it was aired to the group, so didn’t know what the footage was of. Apparently, her and Jake were fighting about him saying he can kiss whoever he wants (I guess Booka?), so she responded ‘it’s my brother’ as a joke? (What the actual fuck, that makes no sense you lying cow)
  • Basically, show is a whole heap of shit, no one is portrayed accurately.
  • All contestants on a gag order, believes she will get a phone call from producers about speaking to Kyle & Jackie O.
  • Claims she flew to Melbourne to be with Jake before he flew to Perth to see her.
  • Claims she’s a ‘really selfless person’.
  • Alleges the producers told her to push and prod and antagonise Bryce, and that the dinner party wouldn’t end until she did – said she refused to do it. (Mmmhmmm, well if she wasn’t being antagonistic, I’d hate to see what she’d be like if she was)
  • Said she doesn’t even hate Bryce like the show portrays. Said the Producers spread the rumour about the secret girlfriend, and she had no idea until she walked into the Dinner party that night with Jake. Said the only part she knew about was the gift.
  • Says there was an ‘on camera’ and ‘off camera’ Jake. He portrays himself as a calm person, loved her, wanted to be with her and spend time with her, but once the cameras were off, he bailed and was nowhere to be found.
  • Jake claims she never wanted to be intimate, but she said she always walked around the apartment naked, showered with the door open, etc and when she would invite him in to shower with her, he’d always say he had to go for a run, gym, etc. Refused to shower with her.
  • Producers still controlling her Instagram, not sure when she’ll get it back.
  • Getting no support from Producers. Said her mental health is shot.
  • She has slept with 1 guy since the show stopped filming. Not in a relationship.
  • Experts wear earpieces and are directed by the producers what questions to ask to get the footage they need. Contestants don’t get to see or speak with the experts.
  • All the juicy stuff got cut from the final dinner party – Cam and Sam had a huge fight, the Liam / Georgia / Jason video saga
  • Bryce then called through, they both agreed about the shit the producers were doing to the cast.
  • When they left one of the dinner parties, Bec said to Bryce ‘Well done’ which was in reference to him being able to hold his ground and not fight her back like the producers instructed.
  • When Bryce & Melissa had to write their letter to Bec and Jake, the producer told them to write that Bec and Jake are fake, which he refused to do. Bryce was then abused by his producer about it, and then received a phone call from someone at channel 9 or the MAFS boss and said that if he didn’t write it, they would edit him to ‘look putrid’.
  • Bryce acknowledged there was a gift that was discussed in a group setting.
  • Bec & Bryce were actually civil to each other.
  • Bec reached out to Melissa about a week ago to apologise for everything that happened on the show
  • Bryce & Melissa in counselling and want to distance themselves from the show as they’ve gone through a lot.

I took a listen to it too and now feel very differently about the people who appeared on the show. They were mercilessly manipulated by ratings hungry producers. Absolute filth. What a disgrace!
 
I'm in two minds.
On one hand I feel bad for them as the producers are quite clearly fucking them over at every opportunity. Their mental health is an after thought and what they are subjected to is atrocious.
On the other hand, this was the 8th season. Surely by now these people know what they're signing up for. It's hard to be empathetic towards people that sign up for a show like MAFS, in all is manufactured drama glory, but then cry that you're not portrayed accurately. MAFS, MKR, BB, etc, they all do it. Reality TV isn't very real anymore.

Regardless, the bullying and shit these people went through is pretty fucked up, and if substantiated, the production company should be investigated.

Fast forward 12 months, and a new group of idiots will have just gone through the same thing, and be complaining about being subjected to the same shit. People don't learn. All they care about is their 15 minutes of fame and instagram followers. People suck.

Regardless of which particulars we choose to believe it is abundantly clear this show is morally bankrupt.
