Can this get any worse? NOW the GF is going to QLD! Why? Queenslanders don't really embrace AFL but footy mad WA don't get the guernsey? At the end of the day I suppose it doesn't really matter...a compromised GF to end a compromised season.

All came down to QLD and SA not having a hard quarantine if they were to proceed. WA wanted a hard 7 day quarantine for anyone entering the state which made it impossible.

More interestingly though is that the grand final is going to be held at night. I wonder if that will be a once off or signs of things to come?
Personally, I hope it's not a sign of things to come. We have very few traditions in this country and if you start messing with the ones we have then we've got nothing. Imagine the Melbourne Cup being moved from the first Tuesday in November just because it may suit some people better? And I don't know how many players are behind a night GF...I've heard some say that nerves would escalate greatly waiting for the game to start. And what about after game celebrations? Some people may be able to stay up all night but a lot of people can't (children etc)...I can't really see any benefit in changing it but maybe this year's "trial" might change my mind...who knows?

Children need the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered by experts in ways they can understand. A briefing may reduce children’s anxiety and increase their understanding of the pandemic.
