How are you finding social distancing? I'm liking it.

It seems like you're avoiding the question. Better to not respond if you don't want to discuss this topic.

I think it is rubbish to be honest.
In my opinion, businesses are too focused on the "perfect" candidate rather than the "right" candidate and that is why roles are not filled. Most of them want experience etc.

What do you want me to say, oh beach? Or is this your way of trying to humiliate me for being unemployed?

I think this is common with jobs that require a university education. Not sure about low-skilled jobs though.

I would disagree with that as well.
My job search as a 17-19 year old was a nightmare. Even supermarkets and other companies wanted people with experience. Every single place I saw that was 'low-skilled' (eg. restaurants, retail, supermarkets) wanted a range of experience (generally 2+ years) and other drastic criteria that a beginner wouldn't have. Opportunities are no longer available for those with no experience.

Why did you acknowledge my posts relating to unemployment and jobs? If you don't want to talk about it then don't respond. I didn't start the conversation. You did.

It's obviously directed at me.

Should we not discuss this topic just because it might offended you? The pandemic has had a massive impact on jobs. Don't respond if you don't want to talk about it.

Isee also brought up something relating to employment on the previous page. If you don't want to see my comments on this topic then ignore my posts. There is an ignore option on this website.

That was related to coronavirus and wasn't a thinly veiled attack on me.

The Sky News videos I posted are also in relation to the coronavirus.

As I mentioned about a million pages earlier in this thread somewhere, why the hell is this federal government still paying double the dole or is it now the dole plus another $250 on top of it? Also that other lady states that the dole is $550 or something? Isn't that the standard rate? Aren't all the unemployed on the same extra rate of pay during this crisis?
As I said I was on the dole years ago and the crap you have to go through to get a pittance from the government was a joke, and for the record I can't stand either side of politics anymore, both the Labs and the Libs treat you like garbage while on the dole. When I was younger I leaned towards Labor and the left side of politics, as I got older I realised that both the left and the right will screw you over as a worker and/or on the unemployment benefits. I was actually shocked when I was unemployed under then Labor PM Julia Gillard, that some conditions and obligations were actually tougher under her government than the Liberal government. This is when I started to say stuff Labor and the Liberals. For the record in both the last state and federal elections I didn't vote for either Labor or Liberal. Stuff the both of them.

I think it could be a bit risky longterm for workforce participation if some people are getting more in benefits now than what they were earning while working.

The dole (Jobseeker payment) should be returned back to the standard rate immediately . Just pay them the standard rate of pay as they can't do much for work at the moment anyway or fulfull their mutual obligations because of COVID-19. I still can't understand why they are getting all this extra money while poor old pensioners still get the same rate of pay through this crisis? What extra expenses do the unemployed have over pensioners during COVID-19?
I can tell you from what I remember I was last getting about $500 a fortnight on the dole. To get that I had to work 2 and a half days a week with "Work for the dole" plus go into my "Job network member" and participate in job search once a week for a few hours and look for about 10 to 20 jobs a week. This was constant for every week while on the unemployment benefits, or what they call the "Jobseeker" payment now.
Now the Jobseeker payment is like that lottery game "Set For Life". Get your fortnightly pay of $750 or $1100 into your nominated bank account and you don't have to do anything at all. Awesome sign me up now! LOL!
