With reality tv I'm not so much interested in the background stories as just how they are on the show itself. I'm glad they haven't pushed Sammie's background story even if it would have made him more popular. It feels too manipulative when they make people one dimensional by just going on about the background, and playing quiet guitar or keyboard music in the background.
It was revealed earlier this year that netflix are doing 3 other versions. I would have preferred it if they had done it in different apartments. I suppose the Australian Love Island doing it in the same place as the UK one is similar, though the US version has got it's own location. Netflix will do things more cheaply I expect compared to CBS who wanted to create their own brand of LI.
I'm not sure it's that expensive to produce, as Alex basically said most of the time they aren't filmed. They only have to edit some key moments that are set up during the day. It's being kept at CBB length, the web extras produced for this aren't very numerous, does it even have it's own website? The days of Big Brother in the UK when you had constant updates on a dedicated website, live feed, official forum, two discussion programs for it etc have all long gone.

Join the reality show set:Channel 4’s The Circle secret filming location revealed — with flats used in the show now for rent
The location was kept secret throughout the series, but we can now reveal it was Fizzy Hayes in west London, where a selection of flats used in the show is now available to rent.
The location of the block of flats where hit Channel 4 social media-fuelled reality show The Circle was filmed was kept secret throughout the series, which ended on Monday with contestant Alex Hobern declared the winner.
Now we can reveal it was Fizzy Hayes, a rental-only block at the Old Vinyl Factory, record company EMI’s former west London production plant.
A selection of flats used in the show is now available. They come with private balconies, free wi-fi and a dedicated team to take parcel delivery. There is a communal party room, a rooftop terrace and a garden podium deck that featured often in the show.
One-bedroom flats start at £1,360 a month, with two-bedroom flats from £1,510. There are no agents or fees so tenants deal directly with the Fizzy Living rental specialist team.

C4 likely moved it out of London because not only is it cheaper but they're legally obliged to make most programming out of London, so this easily ticks that box for a few hours.
Possible the US version (and others) could use the block for their series then hopefully a third UK series airs next year. Hopefully C4 keep the rights - would hate for them to lose the UK version to Netflix and think it airing nightly and as it's being filmed makes it so much more watchable.
P.S. Another inevitable cliffhanger tonight. The twist has been well played by the producers though.

This show is killing me with its cliffhangers!!!
Not really. You can already tell who is blocked. Each apartment has a different colour scheme, and in the final split second before the show cut to credits - you could see the colour of the wall inside the apartment in the hallway.

I don't need cliffhangers to hook me in, and I expect most of the audience don't. Plus with it airing nightly it makes even less sense, people only wait a day for the next episode.
It's definitely better if there are different versions and approaches to it, and Netflix isn't doing all of them. If Netflix aren't doing it live then there won't be any audience involvement to decide twists and who wins, which might not be all that bad.
Not at all surprised by Woody winning the twist, which is way more powerful than any previous influencer. Not having someone to negotiate with anyone, or be voted for, or be known. I think it's too much power, he also doesn't interest me, he's taken on his own act now and doesn't act natural, which is ironic considering he thinks his role is to expose others playing a role. Ella seemed to be way more up for the power than Woody, which would probably play less to audience sympathy of someone looking upset, but I respect it more. It's most likely Joyce or Josh, probably Joyce.

Have you not noticed though the corridor they walk down for the slow mo is not the corridor you see when they open the front door of their apartment. Heck, I think this is the first time someone has visited an apartment which isn't the last door on the left. Not really. You can already tell who is blocked. I'm putting my money on Josh, but we'll see. In terms of who he has least connection with it should be Paddy, but if he's going for a threat I think Woody sees the catfishes as the threat, not the people who are repeatedly influencers. As much as I think Sammie/James deserves a place in the final outing them now as a catfish who has had most of them fooled would set up the last week nicely.

Quite a boring episode, despite the manipulative ominous music at the end. They really dragged out the opening reveal, less is more sometimes. Rather trying to hype up everything just try and let things develop naturally.
I couldn't disagree more. Even if the producers want Sammie as the villain who 'the good guy' eliminates it would leave it as a boring end. Woody is just making out he doesn't have to play the game as he thinks he may have the audience vote in the bag.
The reality is that most of the catfish in these series have been very easy to find out, only Kate and Sammie have had decent prep. That was likely the intention of the producers, but it doesn't make me as hugely impressed with those who find out the weak catfish anyway.

Well it did get a bit more interesting, potentially. I did say earlier that Georgina seemed to have a temper, but she has woken up more now at least. Not as much to her as Sian last year for me. And Woody is the more normal guy but he wants to play up this detective role, Dan never did that and seemed more real. Sammie and Tim do stand up to the best last year and I hope they make it to the end.

Hopefully this next blocking is a fight to the death. Tim really can’t afford to be pragmatic and needs to see through how manipulative Sammie is.
In terms of the series I’m absolutely LOVING how things are playing out. BBUS really needs to take notice as this is exactly what they should be striving for in every series. I didn’t mind how predictable the first few blocking’s were... The pacing of the series has been perfect build up from light hearted gameplay and character moments to the ultimate fight to the finish line.

Agreed. I especially love that the production's attempted influence in ruffling feathers with the Circle Rivals game completely fell apart, while still being the catalyst of the "Circle of Trust" coming together. It's allowed the "revolution" to feel like it's come about in a more natural way and is actually making it enjoyable to watch - rather than just coming off as feeling completely forced by the producers.
I do feel though it would be a bit of a letdown to have this fantastic uprising almost at the very end that feels like it could shift us away from what seemed like the inevitable finale night less than a week ago, just for it to completely fall apart and we still get the inevitable conclusion with a Ella/Tim win.

People thought there was an inevitable conclusion last year though (without spoiling that). At the end people did play the game more and make the result more uncertain. Sammie may well have had a chance to win even if things had proceeded. Still don't like Georgina and Paddy much, but if this means Woody is more in danger it may be worth it. Most of the audience of course aren't used to gameplay and don't like the latest turn of events as a result. This at least is an antidote to the very weak choice of Woody with the previous elimination. That was actually handed to him on a plate, and with detective edit he got, but he took a way out that he thought would just keep him popular. In this case Sammie had to do plenty of work to get this plan in motion.
