Bachelor In Paradise 2018

So even Jarrod thinks Ali is going to make a boring Bachelorette

'All she did on Paradise was either tan or lay there': Jarrod Woodgate slams new Bachelorette Ali Oetjen as 'very lame and BORING'

Bachelor In Paradise star Ali Oetjen will have ANOTHER chance to find a suitor this year when she returns to Channel Ten as the series' fourth Bachelorette.

But her former co-star Jarrod Woodgate appeared frustrated by the blonde bombshell being given the enviable TV role.

Speaking to Nova 96.9's Fitzy And Wippa on Friday, he groaned at the thought of watching Ali on screen, claiming she was 'lame and boring'.

Ali starred on the inaugural Bachelor In Paradise with Jarrod, who went on to find love with fellow Bachelor franchise alumni, Keira Maguire.

When Keira and Jarrod were asked by the radio hosts how they thought Ali would fare in the new role, Jarrod moaned: 'Ugh, next question.'

Keira quickly stepped in: 'This was why I was worried about interviews this morning. Babe, you need to hold back and not say everything that comes to your mind.'

Jarrod was asked to clarify if he had bad blood with the former Bachelor contestant, but Keira answered for him with a laugh.

'He does like her, he's just worried she's going to have a hard time choosing,' she said.

Jarrod frankly confessed: 'Honestly, she was on the island for a long time and basically all we saw was, well, very lame and boring.'

'I don't know how it's going to go,' he continued, seemingly not expecting fireworks from his 'boring' co-star.

The studio erupted in laughter, as Keira insisted: 'I thought I was controversial. Sh**!'

He also told Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny: 'I think it’s going to be boring. It’s going to be boring... Her as a person. All she did on Paradise was either tan, lay there and that’s it.'

To clarify, Nova 96.9's radio hosts asked: 'Are you saying this because you consider her boring or that she falls in love with lots of men?'

Keira softly whispered 'boring' to Jarrod, which he then repeated loudly on the microphone.

'Keira you can't feed him the answers in front of us!' the host laughed.

Ali's season of The Bachelorette is due to air later this year.

I should be looking at Tara's diamond ring, but I can't look away from Sam's hair.
This is not okay! He looks like an idiot, all dressed up for the photo shoot and hasn't fixed his hair. Someone needs to give him a buzz cut while he's sleeping.

You know he is going to have the same stupid hair for his wedding.

I think Sam *likes* that hair, even if no one else does. I doubt he'll be changing it.

As for Jarrod saying Ali is boring... sour grapes, as she was the first one he had eyes for, and she rejected him.

ali was boring though. she hardly had any personality. i don't think it was sour grapes on jarrod's part, just him telling the truth.

I'm not arguing that Ali isn't boring, I thought so too. But Jarrod clearly didn't, he would have been with her the entire time if she had said yes. He started disliking her after she rejected him, it's obvious. She "reminded him of Sophie", remember.

maybe he thought she was boring after she got together with grant? like she didn't have to try any more after she got her man?

It's not her personality guys are first attracted to, it's her bewbs and doe-eyed act. Jarrod fell for that crap, so did Mack. But once they get past that, they will realise the truth, that she's a Stepford Wife in the making and that seems attractive at first, but really isn't. Fake face, fake laugh and actually not much of a challenge should you pass her initial "husband test".

They are going to pull out every mega asshole who has ever applied for her season, because the only way to make her "interesting" is to make her cry. Wait and see. The producers don't want to find her love, they want her to be a vapid crying mess.

Boring is only in the eye of the viewer though. If Ali had said yes to Jarrod from the start, he would have clung to her like a limpet and been her knight in shining armour. It would never have even occurred to him to think of her as boring if she was falling for his "charms".

Yeah, I’m wondering if they are questioning their choice given all the negative feedback
wondering if they did ANY proper checking into what went on - like contacting Grant for his side of the breakup story ...

HE of course might just be trying to make himself look squeaky clean to protect HIS future Bachelor franchise invites ... it could be all bs and Ali's story might be the truth of the matter

however - smoke = fire etc etc

either way she doesn't excite me as a Bachelorette and I still can't see myself watching

in the meantime the PR people seem to be doing their stuff and jumping the gun a little to release possible contestants for her season (But the incestuousness of the Bachie family continues ... )

EXCLUSIVE: Meet the Australian Idol contestant who could be set to win Ali Oetjen's heart on The Bachelorette... and he has a VERY surprising connection to Paradise's Tara Pavlovic

He graced TV screens back in 2009 as a contestant on Australian Idol, only to return six years later on The Voice.

But could Scott Newnham be set to make another return to reality TV?

In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Australia, the singer admitted he had his eye on a show that would involve him competing for love rather than a record contract.

EXCLUSIVE: Meet the Australian Idol contestant who could be set to win Ali Oetjen's heart on The Bachelorette - and he has a VERY surprising connection to Paradise's Tara Pavlovic

The Melbourne native confessed he'd considered signing up for The Bachelorette, which is hosted by former Australian Idol presenter Osher Günsberg.

'It's really funny, I just downloaded the application form,' Scott revealed. 'I was chatting to a friend who said it'd be funny if I auditioned - and she's friends with (Bachelor In Paradise star) Tara Pavlovic - so I downloaded the form.'

However, Scott said he was put off by how time-consuming the application process is, laughing, 'It's so long, I can't be bothered.'

Scott also questioned whether he had the self-confidence to take part in the show, admitting: 'One girl and 20 blokes? You'd have to be pretty sure of yourself that she's going to choose you to do that.'

Returning to TV screens? Scott Newnham was on Team Ricky on The Voice back in 2015

Surprising connection: Scott explained he downloaded the application form after a friend of his, who is also pals with Tara Pavlovic (pictured with Sam Cochrane), convinced him

While Scott has an open mind about joining The Bachelorette, he has ruled out taking part in another talent show.

'If I was to do another one, it'd be overseas. It would be not be in Australia,' he said, revealing that he had once also tried out for another series.

'I actually auditioned for X Factor once. Between Idol and The Voice. I was struggling with a few mental health issues at the time and I wasn't in a good place but I still auditioned because I think someone emailed me to audition. I got four 'nos' from the judges. Then fast forward another four years and I turned three chairs on The Voice.'

'It's stressful because if you don't turn chairs then you're like well… sh*t': Scott also spoke candidly about the pressure of competing on The Voice after already taking on Australian Idol

And with the experience of two TV talent shows under his belt, Scott revealed the differences between them as well as what it's like to return for a second round.

'I feel like there's a bit more pressure on someone who's been on a show and goes on another one - they really need to be better,' he said.

'If I was to do another one, it'd be overseas': Despite being open to joining the cast of The Bachelorette, Scott has ruled out auditioning for another Australian talent show

Scott also recalled the brutal days of Idol, when untalented contenders were left in tears after being berated by the judges, and how The Voice was a much more positive vibe.

'Kids don't realise nowadays how easy they've got it. You've got a whole stage, an arena full of people, lights, you’ve got a band and all that stuff.

'Back in Idol, you walked into a room that was an office. It wasn't acoustic at all. There were three or four people behind a desk and you just sang. You couldn't hide behind anything. But that's just the nature of these types shows, they get bigger and better.'
