Episode I'm A Celebrity! AU (2018) - Episode Discussion

Jackie is the cause of conflict over the vegetable portions. Notice how she changed her story from "no vegetables" to a "smaller serve of vegetables" when Peter countered the accusation. The time to speak up had passed.

So here's my take on this food thing.
We had Simone bitching (and yes she was) to the camera that the boys got more meat than the girls.
But wait, didn't hear anything from any of the other women that they didn't get their share.
She bitches to Jackie (aka, social warrior, prepared to tell everyone how they should live their lives, because, she just knows, right? And Simone is the only one in there who believes her 100%. because she's a dumbass) and the camera, so Jackie makes up this thing that SHE didn't get any veges (that's so no one will guess it comes from Simone's complaint about less meat) but waits until the next day to bring it up to those doling out the food.
So, summing up, Simone is a major manipulator (she was a supermodel you know) and Jackie can be led through the nose. Both famewhores who are not entertaining, as a viewer, in any form, shape, condition.
Everyone else is going like, what?

What fact?
Simone said it, the same Simone who's been gunning for camp 2IC since day one (and hey! She got it, because the others couldn't take her whining anymore) And Jackie (who now has NO tasks), and despite her "contacts" is as clueless as a newborn and will take up any and all perceived injustices, but has to a day later, over vegetables?

I saw Paul and Josh comment on hiding the extra portions. However none of us know the context, and it was very deliberately placed so that we wouldn't. It could have been sarcasm after being accused. It could have been the truth. It could have been a joke because they knew it would make the highlights. Or it could have been something edited in later, out of context. No one knows, and it really doesn't change the fact that if anyone was unhappy with their portion, they had ample opportunity to speak up as it happened, rather than bringing it up hours/days later and embellishing the story to suit whatever point they were trying to prove.

It doesn't matter to me in the slightest, except that I wish they would find something more interesting to talk about.

Something needs to be done before Josh wins this. He's ok, but yet another boring sportsperson. Entertainment value = pretty much zero beyond appearing shirtless. It would be better than Shannon bloody Noll though.

Anyone But Shannon Noll please!!! He $#*!s me to no end! He thinks he's got this in the bag and comes across like the "winner" title is owed to him. And then there is his incomprehensible accent! :wtf:

...haha!... Fiona is so wised up to Oldie lol!... "he's the type of guy that even if he loses he spins it around to make it out that he won it!"... go Fiona you little beauty lol!... cheers.
He's a pollie. It's innate I suppose.[DOUBLEPOST=1519273930][/DOUBLEPOST]

Haven't watched any of it this week, but don't you wish they were the bulls eye and someone kept saying in that specific way ...180.

Re: portiongate, I've rewatched the segments from last night and the night before. Jackie did actually say something the night before, but it was only to Josh, and not that loud. "Yeah, I've got so much rice, no veggies mate". She didn't say much, but she had raised it a little bit at the time. The scene where Paul and Josh were talking about stashing a bit away for themselves seemed pretty clear to me, I took it at face value? Could be wrong though.

What struck me with the argument is that they mostly all seemed to be arguing from genuine belief. Pete seemed to genuinely believe that it had all been served equally, and Jackie and Simone seemed to genuinely believe that it wasn't. Paul, not sure, and I didn't like his snide comments about the boys getting scraps, and letting the girls come and choose first from now on. That's not what Jackie was asking for at all, just for equal portions.

The other thing is that the camera angles the night before didn't really show enough to work out whether it was served equally or not. There was a comparative shot of three bowls, but no indication of how they compared to the others. And the camera angle wasn't really high enough to see into the bowls when the girls were sitting down eating. The night before that, Monday's show, I'm not sure they showed the meal at all? I only had a quick look through that one.
