The Bachelor 2017

Disappointed in Matty that he didn't walk Lisa out. I didn't think she was that invested but she still seemed a bit sad about it, she probably would have liked another single date to at least see if there could be anything more before leaving. I thought it was ridiculous that Matty was concerned about her saying she doesn't fall in love quickly, but he's the one who never got around to giving her a second date! How was she supposed to fall for him if one date was all she got... I mean even for a show like this, that's a stretch.

I like Lisa she seems classy... even though she got booted she didn't say mean things about Matty afterwards out of bitterness like a lot of other girls did. What she said after the show was similar to how she came across the show, that she quite liked him and would have been interested in getting to know him better, but if not oh well and she wishes him the best. I respect her consistency, I don't really like it when people persistently whinge on the show about not getting a date but then afterwards say they never wanted him anyway.

I honestly don't mind Matty, am I the only one? Maybe I just hold him to the incredibly low standard of Richie who was actually the worst!

But $200k is way too much! Did he really get paid that? I thought Sam Frost's reported $50k was pretty reasonable, why such a hectic inflation for Matty?

...there's nothing wrong with actually liking Matty jessy_girl... he's a nice enough guy but just doesn't treat the girls fairly for me personally...I now know that it's all part of the parcel not to date ALL of the girls (I've learned from my first season for this show) but still... asking girls out on 2nd or even 3rd dates and asking none out at all is my itch in my craw... if as he so strongly says... "I'm not a puppet to the Producers!" statement is true (which I really do doubt) then that means that he alone is responsible for leaving those girls hanging... it's not right... it's not fair and it's completely ungentlemanly in my humble opinion...

...even if he doesn't like a girl she still deserves to be shown the respect of a 1st date regardless... it's not so humiliating for them for a start... but he doesn't care about their feelings jessy_girl... this is HIS show... they are at HIS beckon and call... after his total humiliation of what happened to him last year... he's enjoying it being this way too... THAT is why I don't like him personally but good on you for liking him... everyone is entitled to like him or not... afterall... what would these forums be like if we all just agreed on the same thing all of the time?... B-O-R-I-N-G!... lol!...

...and... perhaps they've paid Matty that much extra because they've upped the fee because nobody wants to humiliate themselves on National TV for a lousy $50,000 anymore?... ;):thumbsup::angelic::whistling::biggrin:... extra money means more takers doesn't it?...just saying... lol!... cheers.
 
There does seem to be a gender imbalance in the amount paid for a "Bachelor" compared to a "Batchelorette". Why??? Damning with faint praise as none of them are worth even $50,000, but the guys are at least equally as dull to watch as the girls who have done this (Sophie Monk aside as she's an actual celebrity and so her pay should be worked out accordingly).
There is just no way that Matty J has *earned* 4 times more than Sam Frost deserved.

Oh and for the record I think Matty J is probably a decent enough guy in real life too, he's just become way too big for his boots because he's been given a smorgasbord all you can eat buffet (so to speak), and is gorging himself on the fame and free shags that provides, while generally disregarding that any of the women have feelings other than whether they love Matty J or not.

Yeah I do see that side for sure. I wish you had watched it last year, there was something so incredibly off with Richie and he was just bad all around, you would have had a lot to say no doubt! Also he might make Matty seem like a breath of fresh air, comparatively at least.

Hmm yes good point, gotta raise the stakes. Matty probably negotiated well, partly for the humiliation.

Yes totally. Sophie deserves every cent and as an existing celebrity I think her pay seems pretty fair.

Matty J is literally the same as Sam, just returning from another series prior to which they were unknown. If anything, Sam should get more as her series was far more controversial seeing that she actually won and all. But really they should be dead even, and $50k is a bit of a stretch anyway.

...I think that it's because she doesn't try to 'cling' to her looks by (hopefully) not having facelifts and Botox to retain her 'glory days'...and has allowed herself to grow old naturally... she's naturally pretty regardless... I imagine that she has a wonderful nature too... and as you said... Tara probably owes her attractive personality due to her mum too... cheers.
