Episode I'm A Celebrity! AU (2017) - Episode Discussion

Kate has to understand.
Beauty fades but stupid is forever.
"Your dad might be a policeman but my mums a politician"
Saying the word politics over and over like a demented mantra doesnt facilitate a political thought or belief.
Better off lying languidly after a meal and dream of sheep, cattle and the national party.:D

I don't feel that Lisa and Nat are forming a girls club, it seems to me that they are just trying to cope with some very anti-social behaviour from Tziporah. She seems to be incredibly needy, in the way that she turns everything back to being about her. Someone compliments ash on the trial, and Tzippy says "what about ME!" Calling Nat "dumb' was out of line. None of them are dumb, you wouldn't survive being a "celebrity" if you were.

Hmm, he dated crazies, but married 2 really boring model types - well I have never heard them speak so just guessing

Excellent synopsis :)

I watched this ep. I thought Nat was sweet checking on Kate after the challenge, and I get it that Kate was icy at the start of the conversation, but seemed to thaw a bit at the end. I guess Kate's view on life is "get them before they get you" everyone's out to have a go. Not a nice way to live life.
And then there's Lisa *my way or the highway* Curry. Kate and Nazeem have their way, if he wasn't happy with it it's up to him to say so. Getting pissy at Kate for not jumping when she said to, then getting told off by Jay for going to take the washed utensils back.
So, yes Mr Stickyfingers, I think Lisa is acting a lot like JoBeth was. But I don't think Nat is aware of the clique thing.
To sum up, Kate is a prickly bitch, they'd all know that after 2 weeks, take your own advise Lisa, don't poke the bear.

Yes , but...in order for them all to get the drinks/treats they all earned and were longing for, all chores had to be completed first.

Lisa was thinking of the needs of the group not the needs of the one...........just saying.

I know, that's what she said when Jay told her she can't do that. She would have heard Kate talking long before walking into camera, and Kate was venting what she was feeling. Lisa is a bulldozer.

It's just started here. Tziporah over-reacted then. I might have to re-watch, but I read Nat's comment as if anything sticking up for Tziporah and Ash, but Tziporah seems to assume the worst possible motivations for Nat? What Lisa had said about keeping the food just in case was a bit negative, and Nat was simply telling her to be positive, wasn't she? To not talk as though they were going to fail?

I do agree with Tziporah though that that first conversation Jay was having didn't need to be had in earshot of the people it was about. But you see that a lot on shows like this and BB, where the space is quite small.

Good on them. Though that bit where the snake was on Ash's neck was scary. There's a real risk of strangulation in those snake trials.

Tziporah did really well.

And now we're getting the fallout from the producers treating them like children. I don't like the chore allocations, it means we miss out on the natural interactions in camp in favour of reactions to contrived situations. I never liked it on BB either.

And after the break we're getting another contrived situation with an inane game of passing something mouth to mouth...

Done here. Explosive show, I think Lisa's going to be getting some trials soon, along with Tziporah getting more of course. Jay was the only one who came out of that last fight a winner. Both Lisa and Tziporah were incredibly rude and both were quite bitchy in different ways.

Lisa can do the bitchy in a way that comes over as not being bitchy. (does that make sense)

Both of them have had privileged lives, though Tziporah fell on hard times & can't handle it.

This is the challenge.

The challenge will see Malkah and Smith sat over two separate tanks, one filled with offal and the other fish guts. A board in front of them will feature 16 square boxes, each with a picture they have to memorise before it is turned around.

They then take turns to remember what is on the board. If they get the answer wrong, the other person is either dunked in the putrid tank. They may also have buckets of various gross things poured on their heads like elephant and buffalo dung, octopus and fish guts, molasses, caul fat, insects and chicken intestines.

It sounds BORING.

In the trial, I thought Tziporah showed some interesting aspects to her character:

- Stoic, fortitude, restraint and giving of team support....as well as her need for attention and credit when Ash 'seemed' to be 'consuming' 'all of it' (all or nothing thinking)
- Quick wit and self-deprecating humour over the python/crotch joke (LOL)
- Arrogance, along with a sizable and precious ego (fond of using denial to protect itself?)

When Julia expressed "admiration" for Tizzy & Ash because Juila "couldn't go near" the snakes, under pressure Tizzy's auto-pilot reaction was telling when she spat back: "That's OK Julia because one day I’ll have your job and then you can do this".

She admits failures and short-comings, but I'm not convinced she accepts or takes responsibility very well. She's clearly not powerless, as she would sometimes have others (and possibly herself) conveniently believe via her manipulations.

She does make for interesting viewing, but mainly for negative reasons so far, unfortunately.

Good on her for going on the show though. Credit there because she strikes me as person who is thoroughly not in a good place, but pushing through to the best of her ability and very ill-equipped, in some areas. It possibly means, she REALLY NEEDS this, and will fight hard for it.

Has me wondering about young Casey... will we see/is there a lot more to Casey, beyond her many, genuinely endearing traits and talents?
