There's a longstanding sporting tradition that the player or team that comes last in a competition has to wear a wooden spoon.
And it turns out that the tradition has carried over to The Bachelorette, with eliminated contestant Ryan Palk revealing that the last bachelor to receive a rose each week was forced to wear a wooden spoon necklace.
'Courtney made this wooden spoon with a necklace on it. The guy who got the last rose each week would always have to have it on him,' the sailor told

Ryan recently revealed that his unwillingness to snitch on his fellow co-stars may have contributed to his elimination last week.
The curly-haired cutie confirmed that Georgia Love already several guys on the series to dish the dirt on their rivals.

Ryan, who was sent home on Thursday, said Georgia was interested in gathering information on other guys in the house.
'She'd come to me asking for advice on who was there for the right and wrong reasons, and I tried to be as honest as I could,' the 28-year-old said.
The sailing coach claimed he did not like being put in that difficult position, and - unlike Rhys - he declined to offer any details.
'I told her there were some things I didn't like. I pulled her up on it, and said 'I don't appreciate being in this spot anymore',' Ryan said.

Ryan's confrontation with Georgia took place privately before the rose ceremony, which saw him eliminated from the reality TV show.
He told the publication, while he needed to let her know how her actions had made him feel, there was a chance the chat may have caused his departure.
'I suppose it was one of two things — either she really didn't take it well, or she just agreed with me that we were just friends,' he said.

In a recent
Elle Australia interview, Ryan gave his thoughts about the Bachelorette boys - saying only a handful of them had genuine feelings.
'I certainly think the ones there looking for true love are Courtney and Cam, I think Lee as well, and Clancy. Probably Matty J too.'
'I'm not sure about all of the other guys, in terms of what their motivations are,' he concluded.
