so was your dad a miner, a teacher or a bank johnnie? Some of my favourite people come from Broken Hill. I first saw it from the cab of a truck. I was kind of hitching a ride to SA. Not as bad as it sounds. I worked at a truck stop for about three years. Not quite my favourite job, but a strong second. I loved the truckies and most of them loved me, even when I would take away their keys and say time for a sleep.

He was a miner. We moved to SA when the mines started to close.

That does sound like an interesting experience - character building. Country people are some of the best.

...the trouble with Brett is that he's starting to listen to the (in my opinion) over-rated praise from Matt/George and Garry and believes that his skills are what they say they are... the trouble is... they're not... it's great to have self confidence and a belief in yourself but he'll come crashing down really hard when he one day realises that he's been lied to by the judges and that he is just a mediocre cook at it's best in reality... as with Theresa... I don't dislike him... I just don't like what he has become because of Matt/George and Garry... they have a lot to answer for as far as I'm concerned... cheers.

so where did you go? I find the history of Broken Hill fascinating. We often used to meet in the old mining union building. You could hear all the old men whisper. WTF are women doing in here. Love that building tho.

Brett is totally buying into the ego-feeding, he just said something like "I feel the whole journey has been leading up to this" when he thought he'd win the immunity pin.

My parents took a gamble and bought a shop in Adelaide.

BH was an interesting place to grow up, but I find it a bit slow now after living in a city, Still nice to visit though, and the old buildings are great.

Now there is another thing. All of those fancy pancy appliances. That would do my head in.fuck the Sous vide, the pressure cooker, the smoker blah blah blah. A good knife and a cheap little food processor. RIP little food processor. Dragged the big one out on Sunday. Works so well.

Well I left in 1986 so I don't know any recent teachers there.

I was in the North, as were my grandparents on my dad's side. My mum's family were from the South, so I don't have much experience of the East area.
