Masterchef 2016

...okay... showing my ignorance part 2...Wombok?... is that something that The Wombles cook Witty?... lol!... cheers.
Asian cabbage. Delicious boiled and served with rice wine vinegar.

Buy some miso paste (not packet) for about $4. It's potent, so makes about 10 serves of soup, but stay on the diluted side. It's living and good for you, so only use 80 degree water, not boiling.

...one of the Chefs got 9/9 and a 10 out of 10... 28 out of 30... (and so Matt and Chloe's descent starts)... Chloe thinks that her dish will carry them over the line... dream on girl... dream on!... it cuts to the Ad break of course... cheers.

...haha!... if I ever manage to get brave and actually try it I will let you know my friend... no seriously... I will... I really do love cabbage... lol!... cheers.

...okay... time to show my complete ignorance... what exactly is 'miso'?... cheers.
Miso is a fermented soy bean paste I think. It's one of those magical ingredients. Japanese. It's salty, but sweet. A couple of spoonfuls in most savoury dishes really puts it up to another level. Google steak, miso and mushrooms and you should get a Valli Little recipe. Make it for Mrs sticky. You will get lucky. Trust me.

Hayden can retire and become a 70s tennis player.

...hahahaha!... too funny!...

...I will?... excuse me for a second Desertsands... "hey babe!... I'm cooking tomorrow night okay!"... erm... thanks for that my friend... cheers.

Is a haiku four or five lines? I thought this is where you were going with this post? 😳

😆
A simple haiku would not do justice. Even simple words seem inadequate.
Preston has tapped into some mystical "food force" that us mere mortals can only stare in awe at let alone try to articulate and understand it.

The man can give a complete critique with an eyebrow raise.

There used to be a simple salad recipe on the back of this pack...fried noodles, spring onion, wombok and almond slivers plus dressing ..olive, sesame oil, sugar/honey, vinegar, soy. Also delish imo.

I don't use it as a soup, although I would probably like it. I just think that it is a bit like anchovies, just adds something to savoury dishes. Waiting for howls from anchovy haters. I love them. My perfect present would be a can of Ortiz anchovies. Actually I have given that to a friend.

...oh okay Bluefin... thanks for the heads up... you all may be slowly converting me because now my curiosity is aroused and that will burn into my feeble little brain until it hits those remaining last few brain cells and then I will attempt to try it now... I just know it lol!... cheers.

I make this easy and good. The recipe is as old as the hills. But it is still pretty cool. I was cleaning up my messy living space today. Found the remains of the ingredients at the bottom of the bag. No that would go back to February I think.
