I'm pretty much an If you are the one expert. Just about every guy who writes a 2 page manifesto poem to their chosen girl 4 days beforehand gets shot down in flames.

besides, 2 page poem? that's way too long.
 
Agree about 2 page poems.
I wouldnt deal in witty limericks either unless you are preternaturally skilled in that direction.
Haiku? Always hard without making it sound like a greeting card or a fortune cookie scroll.

Well I would imagine the topic of you being a writer would come up quite early seeing it is one of your principal interests and passions and then it would develop from there.
 
But your enthusiasm in telling us signifies that it felt good. Dont worry about taking compliments.
Savour the joy of something you are proud of and the fact that others have expressed their enjoyment also.
 
Not only a thousand pages in just over a year, but in the off season too! Not bad.
