I suppose $800 million is still alright. Why do I feel like I'll be getting lots of new friends? I did register via the website, yes, so that's good, I am contactable!

Yes sorry I just saw your post. I did not win :cry:

I believe there was at least one winner. You'd hope there would be a few with this many people. Hopefully it's a deserving winner and they do not make a total mess of things.[DOUBLEPOST=1452746080][/DOUBLEPOST]

Bleachy_dude you need to get over to NZ to Lake Tekapo (google images) which is part of a Dark Sky Reserve. The stars there are amazing ... And the setting of the lake and little stone church just took my breathe away ... And no camping required (major bonus for this city girl!):)

I hate A/C!

The only time I use it is to sleep after night shift. I make the room a chilly 16 degrees.

I very seldom even use it in my car. I am a windows down, hair blowin' and gettin knotty kind of gal.
 
Good mornin OT thread!

I know I am getting a bit broken recordy, but...

I am loving this pool!!!

We were in it till 9pm last night!

It gets the morning sun, then shade after about 11 and the water stays so cool. It really is exhilarating diving into it after a long day at work. And not to cause a mass jelly bowl of envy but...

I am officially on a 3 day weekend!!
 
I just want my son home safe and sound ... He was planning on returning to Istanbul but thankfully has changed his itinerary ... He had stayed in a hostel only a minute away from where the bomb went off near the Blue Mosque when he started his trip
I know he has his head screwed on and he registered with Smart Traveller so got alerts whilst travelling but it doesn't make me worry any less
I know we can't stop living our lives or narrowing our lives to suit these horrendous bastids with no respect for life ... But as a mum I want to keep my sons safe ...

Kids!!!

The all consuming love you have for them fucking ruins your life!!!

When you feel that worry threaten to engulf you, acknowledge it then say "I will not worry, he is doing what he loves, please keep him safe". Then try and move your thoughts to something that involves him that brings you joy..

There are horrendous bastids everywhere.
 
I love my boys and the only time I regret not having daughters is in the area of communication
Son overseas for 3 weeks ... 4 very short terse emails and thankful to even get those ... I did tell him I didn't care if he just emailed I'm ok every 2nd or 3rd day just keep us informed ... He stretched it out, has changed his itinerary as he went without filling us in ... But at least he has been in touch
Niece travels to London where she'll be living for 4 months ... 2nd day she send home a long very detailed email ... Who she met on plane, what they talked about, what they planned, her new accom, what she had to buy, what she ate, who she'd met up with, who was coming to catch up with her, who was on her course, who they all knew back home ....
Showed to husband and said read this and then you'll understand why I complain about the boys shitty short emails with no information in them! :)O_O;):whistling:
