Who buys newspapers anymore? In Germany are newspapers not in decline? Everything is online for me.... I guess there are stories about racism though. The bogans on public transport are always in the media.
I don't know if they are in decline so much here actually.... now that you mention it, there seem to be HEAPS for sale everywhere. I occasionally read a real paper printed newspaper here in a cafe or the free ones delivered. But I rarely buy them. I mainly read the news on line or watch it on tv. I was (belatedly - website acting up) responding to Trala's (slightly weird - in my view) comment that I should be more informed about events and racism especially in Europe while in the breath before saying pretty much the same thing I said in my following post,

Fair enough, It must be an old habit to use the phrase "read a newspaper" because the majority of people get their news from other sources these days... I wonder if in say 50 years time that saying will still be around.

Im not really good with compliments so umm...thanks guys.

@bleachy_dude :wideyed: never had Thai before, what's good beside coconut rice?

Gosh you haven't eaten Thai ever? I admit I was late to the party because I never liked rice or noodles or sauce, but I eventually came round and haven't looked back. My non-adventurous tastebuds like pad Thai, green curry and massaman curry and they have good stir frys too. Do it!

Imagine if that was the money word in a CV or reference, though.
Well depends who is interviewing I guess. Maybe they WANT argumentative pain-in-the-arse staff...?

Ha! Possibly - but you are right, I dont think its a phrase I would have used (if I werent quoting someone else). But there are heaps of outdated sayings/phrases around so.... who knows. Limelight for example. No-one uses lime for light any more. But people still want to be in the limelight!

The green curry sounds like something I might like. There are 4 Thai restaurants near my work.... One on the left across the road 2 directly opposite and one next door. Next Tuesday I have day shift... Might buy some Thai after work as a treat. :)

I totally pick you as a dramatic public fanner :p

Sorry @Affable but this did make me lol a bit.

Do it! Well up to you obviously, I don't want you to be disappointed. Just don't go expecting the green curry to be made up of your beloved green veggies, that was another off putting aspect to me for so long, I don't like green food! But this is an exception!

To make your own curry you only need a tin of thai red, green or massaman curry paste for $1.20 - $1.50 and either Coconut Cream or Milk (or maybe yoghurt for health). Homebrand Coconut Cream or Milk only costs 90c and that should be enough for 8 serves, so very cheap. Red is best, then green and massaman is OK.

Cool, I'm happy for you. Are you replete following your daily fix for your forum superiority complex? lol
500,000 travel miles doesn't actually mean shit outside of your own ego, you know that right?
I've been overseas once in my life too and that was when I was 11. What does that matter? Are you not satisfied with where you live? :p
You also seem fixated on putting down someone else's intelligence, of which you know nothing, does that make you feel better too?

Bingo bingo bingo.

Ohhhhhh soo much goodness. As has been mentioned, green curry, Massaman. I also like Penang or something like Tamarind chilli curry if you like it a bit spicy.

Now these are the posts I don't mind seeing from you. I really don't understand the continual condescension you throw at some posters. There was a brief moment I think last week that I saw you post some helpful things re: tralas lap top woes. And sometimes some funny posts.
