I didn't get to either of those unfortunately. Spewing! My friends over there go hiking at Lake Tahoe and have told (and shown) me how beautiful it is. I did do the the 'the drive'. My two favourites were the Hearst Castle and Carmel. That castle is amazing with it's own 1930's style zoo. Can only image what it must have been like in its hey day.

Yosemite is breathtaking. It is just incredibly beautiful, I think you could spend weeks there and not scratch the surface
