The Bachelor Australia contestant Emily Simms has shed light on the departure of her friend, Bec Chin, from the reality dating show.
The 31-year-old from Melbourne told New Idea that -despite what it looked like on Wednesday's episode- Bec Chin was not dumped by Sam Wood, and in fact the exit was motivated by other factors.
'Watching it, it looked like Sam wanted to let her go,' Emily said. '[But] it was very much a mutual decision. They made it look more that it was on Sam's terms, which they usually do.'

The 31-year-old advertising executive likened the experience of being on the Channel Ten series to being 'institutionalised' in an interview with The Courier Mail.
She says that during filming she was only allowed one phone call every two weeks for ten minutes and a member of the production team would listen in case she revealed any details of the show.
The Bachelor Australia continues Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7.30pm, Network Ten.
