The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! The Bachelor hunk Sam Wood shares family snap with his lookalike father
ByJASON CHESTER FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

The pursuit of love appeared to be far from Sam Wood's thoughts as he indulged in some quality time with his father on Sunday evening.

Taking to Instagram, the hunky 35-year-old - currently in the process of finding his soulmate onThe Bachelor- shared a snap taken during a family outing.

Standing side by side, the cheerful pair reveal strikingly similar features - among them an identical smile - a fact Sam concedes in an accompanying caption.

'A little break with the old man. A few stone and woods in paradise. #appledoesntfallfarfromthetree,' he wrote.

The TV personality looks relaxed in a denim shirt and vest as he affectionately wraps an arm around his father's waist.

Tasmanian born Sam, who is now based in Melbourne, previously credited his dad for giving him the drive to start his own business, Gecko Kids - which helps children develop healthy diet and excercise habits, in 2006.

Here we go: The hunk is currently in the process of finding his soulmate on The Bachelor

'I am passionate about what I do. I love working with children. I love the health and fitness industry,' he told Swisse in 2013.

'My passion continues with the love I have for owning my own business. With an entrepreneurial father in the hospitality industry, I think business was something I was destined to do.'

Meanwhile the hunk is mid-way through his quest for a soulmate on the current series of The Bachelor.

But on Friday morning Sam told the Kyle & Jackie O Show that he hasn't spoken to 'front runner' Heather Maltman since filming for the show wrapped.

His admission comes just weeks after Heather told the KIIS FM duo she got a heads up about his other on-screen kisses.

'That's not true. I haven't been speaking to Heather,' he told Jackie 'O' Henderson as she relayed the previous chat with the aspiring filmmaker.

'I think what Heather meant by that is, she got a heads up in real time, during the filming,' Sam added.

'Because sometimes the girls would say "What happened on your date with so-and-so?" and I felt it was important to be honest with them, particularly girls I was close with,' he explained.

When asked if he had been in touch with the girl he ends up with, Sam became a little coy and talked around the issue, hinting he may not have ended up with any of the girls.

'IF, I was to have ended up with [one of] the girls, then yes, we have been in touch,' Sam clarified.

I've only seen the TV Week one so I thought I'd scan it. Nothing too new or interesting but I found Emily's comments about expecting one of her ex's to get into contact with her after the show aired to be pretty telling. I had gotten the impression that she may have had ulterior motives for going on the show...

Heather Maltman slams 'so boring' Sam and The Bachelor series: 'I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy'

She's one of the favourites to win the affections of Sam Wood's heart on The Bachelor, but it looks like Heather Maltman isn't too keen.

Chatting with friends at Joel Edgerton's farewell party in Bondi last week, the actress reportedly mouthed off about how much she actually hates the show…and the leading man.

According to Woman's Day, Heather, 29, was speaking openly at the event about how Sam, 35, was "so boring" and they didn't even have a connection. Well, that explains all the friend-zoning!

"I never went on the show to find a husband," she apparently admitted to friends. "I did it for experience…and it was so boring.

"I would never do it again in my life. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy."

But it gets juicier. The Bachelor contestant also slammed Sam for going on the series to get famous. Erm, isn't that the point?

"Sam may have gone on the show to find love, but I think he just wants fame," she said. "He just wanted to improve the profile of his fitness business."

Sam, who runs a health and fitness club in Melbourne, reportedly once applied to be a coach on The Biggest Loser, but went on to The Bachelor after his application failed.

Meanwhile, Heather, who works as an actress and filmmaker in Sydney, recently slammed rumours she was planted on The Bachelor to further her acting career.

jealous glares attributed to Heather rather than Emily or Jasmin? I find that laughable

I know people probably think I'm very biased towards Heather but I just think they deliberately screen shot her and then suddenly she's "gritting her teeth" "grimacing" "glaring" ...

I just laugh that one quotes the other as a reliable source to create more fodder .. and so it builds ...

just know that we're now going to be subjected to candid shots of Heather - WHY aren't they following Snez around? WHY not Sarah or Lana?

Considering they're obviously into lazy "reporting" going to WA to stalk Snez is probably too much effort.

You have to wonder if all of this crap is just a smokescreen because the winner was kind of obvious from like Day 2-3.
Like they're throwing all this doubt and they take pics of Heather every 20 minutes and make up all sorts of crap, it just feels like they flunked this series cause the guy is straight up and liked who he liked from the get go and they're trying to stir doubt.
Last year I had no idea who Blake would choose, had a hunch it'd be Sam but he had individual connections with other girls too, Sam doesn't really show that imo.

I was thinking it's more the case of a concerned and deliberate effort to stalk the crap out of her to let the final couple fly under the radar and deflect attention while the show is still airing.

Either way though it just seems so unnecessary to me. I mean it's just a bloody tv show. The harassment has gone way over the top. I admit I like Heather but I'd be saying the same thing if it were any of the girls that were copping it constantly by the media like she is.

Like @crimmy has already said, if she isn't the one that won I hope the girl that did really appreciates all the hits Heather is taking.

This is so true.
