Don't forget Romana, and The Rani.

In the original series we also saw female Time Lords (or at the very least Gallifreyans) called Rodan, Flavia, Thalia and The Inquisitor, In the new series we saw a woman who may or may not be the Doctor's mother, and heard of a male/female called The Corsair. Then there's River Song, who may or may not be a Time Lord but certainly has regenerative powers.

...hahaha!... oopsies!...(I had a few rums when I wrote that which in turn helps me have 'senior moments'... lol!)... yes of course!... well that proves my point even more doesn't it?... if anything we need even more male Timelords don't we?... lol!... cheers.

Who is she????????????????

Any theories? Apparently NOT - susan, or jenny.

Do you remember in the 50th, that girl that disappears and then pops up out of the bushes like some kind of faery, and is never explained?

Can't wait, counting down the days - and watching the nightly repeats, sometimes twice - last night was the fun one with dinosaurs
And souffle girl the night before, DW repeats just highlight how good this show is - even ones I don't love, if I start watching, I just can't stop. There is always something i have missed.

Oh and regarding a female doctor - I am a very committed feminist, and I NEVER want a female doctor.
To me the TARDIS is female, amazing, more amazing than the doctor.
And the females of DW are brilliant in every way, fierce, brave, wonderful females

Who is the girl/fairy in the bushes you speak of?

I can't explain until I see the repeat, my brain is a bit foggy about where she popped up - but I remember, we never had an explanation.

But Masie apparently plays a completely new character, unless Moffat lies as usual:)

BREAKING NEWS!
THERE MAY BE NO SEASON 10 OF DOCTOR WHO IN 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.cultbox.co.uk/news/headlines/no-doctor-who-season-10-airing-in-2016

Private Eye is reporting that a full season of Doctor Who will not be made next year.
The magazine claims that “BBC staff have recently been informed that showrunner Steven Moffat’s commitments to his other hit show Sherlock mean that there will be no full series of Doctor Who in 2016.”
A tenth season has been confirmed by the BBC, but no dates for when it will arrive have yet been revealed.
The fourth season of Sherlock was originally due to be filmed later this year, but is now due to begin shooting next spring.

Since the show’s return in 2005, there has been a full season each year apart from 2009, when specials leading up to David Tennant’s departure were shown instead, and in 2012-2013, when Season 7 was split either side of 2012’s Christmas special.

Are you guys watching the repeats on every night at 7.30pm & again about midnight or later????

I cannot resist.
Also, I'm getting in the zone for the new series, and boy did I miss lots first time around, so wonderful, getting answers to things that annoyed or puzzled me previously.

Tonight is a ripper.
Catch it in the early hours or on ABC.com
The sad old raggedy man in Victorian era, with his head and TARDIS in the clouds; beginning of the impossible girl; and that awesome 3some with M.Vastra.

Ooooo lovely stuff @Mr Stickyfingers, and squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, rumours about 10 & 10.....

David Tennant has been spotted near the Cardiff set of 'Doctor Who' sparking speculation he is set to make a cameo.
The 44-year-old actor - who played the 10th incarnation of the Time Lord in the sci-fi series - was spotted near the Cardiff set of the show, along with former showrunner Russell T Davies last week.

Current Doctor, Peter Capaldi - who replaced Matt Smith in the title role last year - appeared in the season four episode 'The Fires Of Pompeii' as Lucius Caecilius Iucundus.

David was playing the Doctor at the time.

There is speculation that David could be filming a special to celebrate the upcoming 10th anniversary of the show's revival by the BBC.
Meanwhile, the BBC appeared to announce that the sci-fi series will continue for a 10th season, following the upcoming ninth series in their Worldwide Annual Review last month.

On the 32nd page of the document, matters listed as under review in the past year include ''investments in 'The Musketeers' S3 and 'Doctor Who' S10''.

And while it was announced in February that 'The Musketeers' - which stars Luke Pasqualino, Tom Burke, Santiago Cabrera and Howard Charles - would be returning for a third series, this was the first official confirmation that there will be more episodes of 'Doctor Who'.

The ninth series of the hit show - which sees Peter reprise his role as the titular Time Lord alongside Jenna-Louise Coleman as his companion Clara Oswold - is set to launch on September 19 on BBC One.

It's believed the next series would air at some point in 2016 although it's unclear whether Coleman and Capaldi will be returning.

David famously returned to join Matt Smith alongside a host of other former Doctors in the 50th anniversary special.

Finally had another response...

Dear <My Name>

Thank you for your email.

The new series of Doctor Who is set to premiere on the BBC on 19 September. However, the ABC is yet to confirm any broadcast dates or simulcasts. For the moment I can only recommend keeping an eye on the ABC TV guide page for the show.
