Well I haven't even made a dent in my HECS debt I don't think as I'm yet to earn enough. So I got 2 degrees for free and wasted all that time studying to never use them, not sure who gets the last laugh here.

So I found out a bit more about my course today. It actually starts in October and runs for 10 weeks. I need to do a first aid course, I need a NSW police check done and I need to prove I have all my vacations done. I did not realise it was so soon, the website said October intake and for some reason I thought that meant October was when the course was open to enrollment.... Silly me... So I've got a few months to get these few things sorted and I am good to go. I'll have my cert by Christmas!

Wow, how exciting. You'll be ready to go for the new year then.

One day you might have to pay it off. Just hope that the govt doesn't start charging interest!

Yep AIN, turns out my sisters partners mother is an AIN and she works in aged care, I'll deffo be picking her brain the next time I see her... Most likely at Christmas.
Yeah talking with people who have done it can be helpful.

Yeah, I am tempted to just pay it off all at once but then I'll really feel forced to go get a real job. Maybe if/when they start charging interest I will.
Oh for the days of free tertiary education, hey?

I don't really want to work in aged care and if I end up working in that field I only want to do it for a little while, I would much rather work in a hospital. Having said all that what field I want to work in will most likely change once I start the course.

Also I have to go to the physio tomorrow, I have a back and leg problem.... What should I wear? Work out clothes?

My mum did a lifestyle and leisure course at TAFE but doesn't really want to work in aged care either. She wants to work with disability services.

I can't help with the physio Q. Last time I had physio I was a kid. Hehe

So beside aged care and disability service what other fields can your mum work in with the lifestyle and lesuire course under her belt?

Tbh I'm not even sure. She started a second course that was supposed to help her get a job assisting someone like an occupational therapist or something. However she didn't really like the course so dropped out, it wasn't what she expected. Too technical or something. I think that one was called Allied Health Assistant.[DOUBLEPOST=1437626780][/DOUBLEPOST]
My thoughts reading the last few pages of this thread.....
