Last year he ate a Cadbury freddo biscuit, that unbeknown to us it had nuts in it, he had it before and we checked the ingredients and we never saw nuts in the list. Anyway he ate the biscuit thinking he was safe then he said he felt strange. I checked the packet and saw that it actually had nuts in it. He refused the epipen at first so I drove him to the hospital, but on the way he got worse so I stopped the car and injected him with adrenaline. Very scary. He has had a few reactions before when he was little but this was by far the worse

Oh those were the sweet days!! My friend was always kind enough to get the canteen to cut her Zooper dooper down the middle and give me half.

School canteens are so posh these days with such an emphasis in health, this is ultimately good but kids will never know the joys I knew, like buying lollies at school with coins from my mother's car.

Wow scary stuff for you and your son shadow! It must be difficult living with such a severe allergy that is not as easy to avoid as others, I hope it's doesn't impede upon his life too much.

I wish @JordanS was still around. I wanted to thank him for a previous assignment I did. My grade came back and I was 2 marks off from a HD. I am thrilled with my distinction, surprised I was given the mark really. I honestly hated this assignment and was happy to just get a credit in all honesty. So Jordan, if you ever come back, thank you so much.

Congratulations SG, that's great to hear. It's always so rewarding when hard work pays of and it must be reassuring to know that you're on the right path. I'm glad Jordan was able to help you, he is actually a sweet boy underneath it all and I had come to enjoy his posts, but also don't forget your own work ok the assignment. He helped you, but you got the marks!

Really well! It seems I can do no wrong, haha.

Aw, thanks, haha. There's a few things I'm working on that I'm planning on submitting to competitions and other stuff and unfortunately a lot of the time submissions have to be completely unpublished (which includes anywhere online), so it might be a while. Maybe I should just do a little side project for whoever's left here. Actually, I may have some stuff from the "back catalogue" that I can post. I'll have a look around. :)
How exciting for you! I admire how you are not afraid and put yourself out there. It's a great experience but I hope you also do really well and it opens many doors for you.

Thanks JG. I agree, Jordan is a sweet boy. I even didn't mind the housewife gifs after a while lol

That's so scary! I've always been so thankful that I don't have any allergies like that. I don't think I could deal with the anxiety of it all, although I suppose if you've lived with it forever you don't know any better. I remember there was a kid in primary school who was allergic to nuts and I would get really fixated on watching him eat, just in case he accidentally ate nuts and he needed help or something, haha.

Allergies are so weird though. Like... yeah, it's just crazy how a little nut can screw someone up so much!

Oh, and yeah, though it slightly annoys me to say, @JordanS's leaving seems to have had more of an impact than I thought it would (dare I say I miss him? Ha!). Or perhaps the general lack of activity around here is purely coincidental. Either way.

His abscence has left a heart-shaped hole in the forum.

Haha, well, I don't know about that, but it's definitely left a gif-shaped hole in the forum. And I kinda miss his quite frankly bipolar behaviour, even though it infuriated me on so many occasions.

Yes, those gifs. I thought his behaviour reminded me of Lord Blackadder off Blackadder the second. With me of course being Baldrick.

Yes, I remember you saying that to him one night. He didn't understand a word of it! (though he didn't seem to "get" a lot of stuff tbh)

It was a pretty obscure reference, so it is understandable that he did not get it. But I think my main point was that Blackadder never liked talking with Baldrick, but Baldrick was always around. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever going away.

Just saw Tom Piotrowski on channel 9 doing the CommSec thing. Haven't seen him for ages.

Who?

Do people actually learn the name of the people who do those news/business segments?! lol

I do pay attention to the name of the reporters but only the pretty (female obviously) ones I swear. :p

Have zero interest in learning some male reporter's name. :yuck:

Wasn't Tom made famous because of his awkward interactions with Sandra Sully during the news?

No idea reepy. Like I said male reporters of any kind hold zero interest for me. I only know the names of male reporters who have a significant amount (i.e Karl Stefanovic) of air time/role and that's due to sheer over exposure not because I want to know their names. lol :p

Well the only male reporters names I know are Ray Martin and George Negus.

He is notable because Commsec want you to trust a paleolithic man with your millions. He doesn't just eat paleo, he looks it.
