I am at home. My partner is a Kiwi, and he was suppose to go to a Kiwi gathering for it, but it was cancelled. So I am getting sledged!
That is what I am not enjoying!!! All is good - just a bit of silly sporting rivalry fun

Oh, ok.

Well I suppose so far this match is not going the way of New Zealand. But things can change!

I also agree it is just a game. As long as everyone has fun and a good time who cares who wins?

Ok, I need advice, my son turns 21 in June and I want to have a dinner, family and some friends. 20 in total. I have found a nice Italian restaurant and for pizza pasta salads and desert plus beer wine and soft drinks $1100.
Now I could go somewhere else, where it is cheaper, but no desert and no drinks so I would have to add that on. Is $1100 too much? I have no idea, it works out at $55 a head

Only you can say if $1100 is too much, it's all relative I suppose. When broken down to $55 a head it doesn't seem too bad, my unhelpful response is that it's up to you if you think that night is worth that price and what that amount means to you in the bigger picture. If it includes drinks then I'd say it's pretty good value, but maybe research how much it would cost you to go to another place and also buy booze?

If he isn't having a 21st party and instead is just doing dinner then I'd say you are saving a crap load and $1100 isn't so bad. If it's in addition to a party (that you're paying for), well you're being very generous!

This party planning is very pertinent to my life, I'm trying to plan a party currently and I suck so much at organising things. Not sure how I got lumped with the responsibility.

For a 21st I think that sounds reasonable. Is there live music? A dance floor? You would want a 21st to have a nice vibe.

Well it's mostly for my girlfriend who is turning 30 in a couple of months, she should plan her own party though I feel. She also wants to make it an engagement party of sorts which I'm not so keen on. Did I ever mention that I was engaged??
Lol! no but in your typical fashion these little details kinda just slip out.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That's exciting... When / where / how etc?

At a 21st, these days, you need a smaller dance floor and more spacious seating away from sharp objects/ easily damaged property as everyone will be on facebook/twitter/badoo & the odd forum for 90% of the night

The other 10% will be spent unsuccessfully looking for someone that has a charger for a HTC or Blackberry....

ENJOY !!!

Wow. Great news Jessy!!!
Congratulations!! So happy for you both!! :woot:

Thanks guys :)

Haha yeah mental note to actually document things as they occur, what else can I casually slip into convo I wonder?

The details are pretty boring though to be honest, but it took place earlier in the year.

Haha. Funny how you leave the most IMPORTANT things out!!!

Basically I think you should keep a daily diary here so you don't forget to mention anything. :p
