Have you always hates books?

As a child / teen I loved reading. I loved books. Going to the library was better than macias for me. Yeah... I was that nerdy

When I went to university, it completely robbed me of my love of books and reading. Being told to read hundreds of boring books to someone else's timeline absolutely destroyed the experience. My degree was BA / BTeaching and we had to read so many books which were either outdated, or to me plain common sense which didn't need to be written in a text book. Worse still: crazy theorists who I couldn't respect.

I think it was at least 7 years before I picked up a book again by choice to read. I had to go back to reading teen novels (ie: Hunger Games and Divergent type books) and I think that is because I was stunted in the period where I was supposed to graduate from teen and YA fiction to books for 'grown ups.'

I'm still kinda scarred to this day.

I have always hated books from as long as I can remember to be honest. I just never really got into the reading thing.

Thought that there were better stuff to do than to be sitting there reading a book. I get so bored when reading. Prefer to read on the internet to be honest.

I absolutely can't stand books. However, I don't mind textbooks... As long as I don't have to read too much.

Interesting, what is it about text books that you prefer? Perhaps for you its a clearer means to an end, or simply because you have studied a subject you love and the texts are therefore relevant and interesting?

I think I probably thought I knew enough to teach primary kids without reading the required texts. "Just let me go and do my job, I got this" type attitude. :p

Textbooks help me clarify my understand in a way. Unfortunately this year, I have no textbooks at all. The content in there is just so informative and is usually well written. Lecturers usually choose readable sections I feel.

Oh you are a teacher? I don't feel I would need textbooks for an education subject either. As long as you know all the theorists and their views, that is the important thing :D
