Haha. Fair enough.

Made me question everything I know about you. I mean DO YOU EVEN LIKE ZOOPER DOOPERS?!?!

haha.

Haha, yes well I feel that would be pretty random if I suddenly revealed I had a kid! It's actually pretty funny for me to picture it.

Never doubt my zooper dooper love! I do have some home made versions plus some ice cream versions waiting in my freezer but I'm a bit too scared to try them, I'll just stick with the original I think.

Oh you must try them and report back.

Yeah, didn't you know I have a kid?

No lol jokes, I definitely do not. Sorry I perhaps used "my" a bit too liberally there, I just nanny for her so have claimed partial ownership.

Haha, omg when I read that you took your five year old I was like, "Oh my god she's slipped up! Such deceit!" Kind of like when it was revealed that you've got a girlfriend.

Lol, that would be highly deceptive, but possibly keeping in character. I wonder what other truth bombs I can drop in here?

Wow such nice people in this thread, and of course the wide world too. It'snive to hear there are still good people around, it can be easy to forget! Random acts of kindness really can go a long way, and I believe very much in paying it forward.

Oh @Sweetgeek I do not envy you. I had to drop my 5 year old at an excursion in Chatswood so thought I might tackle toys r us, I took one look at the line and ran far far away.

That's cute that your little boy likes Elsa, and great that you don't discourage it. My little bro was obsessed with Snow White as a kid and really wanted like hers but my dad wouldn't buy it for him. Eventually my mum just bought it for him and, shock horror, he turned out fine. Really they're just toys, who cares.
He is happy so I am too. Though my father in law constantly leaves hints that he doesn't like some of my choices. I think encouraging my boys to enjoy arts and crafts set him off and I only pushed it when I asked my son what he wanted to make and he said fairy, so of course I said let's make fairies. I only know it set him off because he ranted to my hubby about it. Oh well.

That's really nice to hear, I'm sure your boy will continue to have a happy childhood for it too and probably grow to be very well adjusted. Not to sound like Larissa Waters, but seriously who cares what toy a kid wants to play with? I do get gender and it's place in society, but I really don't think it's a big deal either way. I think parents should worry a bit more about what values they are instilling in their kids rather than if their toy is gender appropriate.

Oh well indeed.

what's a zooper dooper?

A type of icy pole.

I don't think it's a big deal either. In fact studies show that in early schooling girls are doing better in school since the change in attitudes about girls doing what boys can, whereas boys seem to falling behind and a reason for this was because of the focus on gender and what boys should be like etc. there has been so much progress for girls but sadly no focus on the boys, which sucks!

I roll my eyes at my father in laws old school mentality in all honesty. He knows how I feel about such things so won't say anything to me, and my hubby knows better than to bother me with such nonsense anyways. My boy is three turning four and is more sensitive compared to the other boys at times and I love how excited he gets whenever we watch frozen and the way he knows every single one of her scenes- seriously he really rocks the let it go part, I'm talking the stamp on the grounds, the hand movements, the pirouette, the hand through hair (which he now ties his ninja turtle headband (how convenient that it was a gift from my father in law lol) to make it seem like it's a braid like Elsa's- Why would I take that away from him when he enjoys it and is incredibly happy... I would much rather joined in with him and have some fun too lol.

I find this story really sweet. It doesn't surprise me at all to hear what a lovely and caring mother you are x
