Things you didn't know about Big Brother Australia

Hey guys,
I'm interested to hear what secrets the show has hidden over the years. What's some things you were surprised to learn about any of the housemates, what happened in the house or any drama that unfolded that no one got to see?

To kick things off I was really surprised to find out that Tim from 2005 had a massive game plan going into the house which he devised with one of the chaser boys. Pretty crazy stuff..
 
Ok jakes housemates with tim from last year. Tully got Lisa and Tom on to the show and probably more that we are unaware of. Tom knows Blake. Sam also knows some Ryan guy from 2012 and boog. Skye was trolling Layla on twitter and Facebook. Ryan knows people from other reality tv shows. And he didn't even apply for big brother but applied for the block. Edit. Oh and Leo didn't audition for bb he was asked to be on the show and has already been on a tv show before and his real name is also Ryan

Is that true about Leo. He is an arse. Why would you bloody going on and on about never watching tv, knowing nothing about tv shows etc etc. I do not like Leo much and find it bloody hard to believe he is 30yrs old. Crazy, acts like a freaking teenager mostly and then rattles on all zen-like. Zen guys do not go to strip shows esp as the main attraction . And I saw that bloody ad he was in. Yeh, good naked body but you are full of it Leo, old man
 
I have an interesting one. Peter Timbs from BB01 actually won his place into the house via a nationwide competition - and even more interestingly, he is probably one of the earliest examples of a HM going into the show with a preconceived game plan.

Not many people will remember this but in 2001 only eleven of the original HM's were actually chosen via the audition process. As part of the promotional lead-up to Big Brother, Austereo actually held a competition to find the "Twelfth Housemate" where people were interviewed live on the radio and explained why they would make a good HM, etc.

In his interview, Pete was quoted as saying: "If I can get through I think I have the personality that can keep everybody happy so that I won't get voted out... at least not for the first couple of weeks anyway... until they work out what I'm really like. I've been watching Survivor and I already hate certain people because they're getting pushy and so forth. So, you buddy up to people and you don't throw your weight around too much to start off with."

Interestingly, he was part of the first ever BBAU showmance in that season with Christina.

From my point of view, I always felt that Christina was more interested in Peter than he was with her, and after finding out that he said the aforementioned statement before being chosen to be a HM, I do believe that it was all part of his whole "game plan" to further his time in the house. After all, it did get him to Week 8 and he was a very well-liked HM so obviously something worked in his favour.

Oh I didn't know that - very interesting!

I'm a bit disappointed (upon reflection) that all I did was just watch the show - had no idea about any magazines, and definitely no idea about forums until about 2012. I only found out about Tim 2005 (and The Chaser thing) last year! :redface: Such a sheltered, sheltered life. Haha.

I also felt the same way re Peter's interest in Christina. It seemed to be quite one-sided at times.

I wasn't shocked either i know that if two people have the same name someones gotta change for the show. I was just adding it in there as more information about him that some people might have not knew. Before tonight's episode

I have another FUN FACT to add.

What does Ben from BB01, Jamie from BB06, Benjamin from BB09 and Ryan from BB11 all have in common?

They were the last HM to enter the house/be introduced at the start of their respective seasons (at the time of each Launch show, so excluding all mid-season HM's such as Intruders) and all of them won.

They were all "the last one in" and became "the last one out". ;)

I noticed that last night, although I didn't realise Benjamin from BB09 was also the last one in/last one out, since I barely paid attention to that season.

He entered after Ray on Day 2. Still included in the "original HM"/initial Launch bunch though.

No they weren't. Travis was the only HM who didn't have to choose a pair because because the last remaining HM to be introduced (who ended up being Ryan) was to be paired with him by default. (It was the producer's way of setting up their failed "bromance".)

EDIT: Oh shit. I just realized there was a Launch Part 2.....how much of this season I already forgot! :bang:
 
Tully had worked with Lina, and went to high school with Tom, plus gave Alex the heads up about Lisa, although she did go through the audition process...

MattBB12 is mates with Ryan

Jake and Dion knew each other before Jake moved to Sydney
