Skye Appreciation Thread

Now I know why Skye has learning difficulties, Her mum was clearly a junkie during her pregnancy. The humane thing to do would have been aborting skyes life.

probably the most ignorant post i've seen too. you're basing her mum being a junkie off seeing 15 seconds of her reunite with her daughter whom she hasn't seen in 2 and a half months.

Some thoughts.....

The whole concept of 'Skye is Fake' started when she was seen voting (for Ryan and ?). I absolutely think she has been carrying out a variety of approaches to different people and situations throughout the season. Now, considering this IS a reality TV show and the public vote based on you and your storylines, it seems like a fairly plausible tactic/strategy/behaviour pattern!! I actually think it was Alex M who said, 'Be entertaining or you won't get airtime.'

Isn't it perfectly natural to behave in different ways, depending on who you are with or the occasion?! Isn't it also fairly standard for HM's to evolve during the season? Those who maintain the same dull or same annoying or same bitchy or same OTT persona for the whole time have gone home already IMO!

I think Skye, Priya and David have been continually changing since day 1. Not ONE of those 3 are behaving the same now as they were on Day 1.

Ryan...well, how the hell would we know if he has changed or not considering he was a non-HM for the first 4-5 weeks!!

Skye is so fake- that's why she loudly and proudly stated she will win bb. She is not fake! The girl cant keep anything hidden about herself, so hiding who she apparently really is would be fairly difficult. And yes, it is perfectly normal to behave differently. Example, I would not act the same way I would act at work, I would speak differently to my work colleagues. With fun people, my fun side comes out. With the thinkers, my thinker side comes out... you get the gist lol. You always keep who are as a peron with you wherever you go and whoever you meet, but parts of your character will change to fit in imo. Those people imo like to include everyone and make everyone feel involved in a way, because they cater to the other persons personality in a way. I hope this makes sense.

skye is my favourite this year, although she'd never be the hm i'd actually choose to be friends with. i think it's strange how people don't seem to recognise just how cleverly she is playing this game- she barely stops banging on about it. i pretty much think of her like tim from bb13... incessant chronic narcissism at it's most determined. weirdly, i loathed tim and am (kindof) impressed by skye- which appears to be against consensus. another gender debate?

Tim also played up to the cameras constantly and he never copped the same amount of flak for it that Skye is currently experiencing.

Both Tim and Skye are extroverts who like to be the centre of attention, and playing up to the cameras is an accurate extension of who they are but they pick on Skye because they hate her not because they necessarily have a problem with her being an 'attention whore'.

It's just another feeble hypocritical excuse to hate her in other words.

I just went on twitter to suss out past housemates and it seems as though many do not like Skye.
However with this years housemates, Gemma seems to be the only person voicing her dislike towards Skye, and I don't understand why.
As far as I'm concerned her time in the house consisted of her shit strategy/gameplay, her getting picked on by Travis, Lisa making her cry and not to mention she sucked up Skye's ass cos she didn't really have anyone but Jake.....and for some reason she's on twitter always having something negative to say about her but hardly ever about Travis or any other housemates?

Skye is a 20 year old little blonde with a pretty face and a hot body.

Gemma is a 30 year old giant red head.

She's jealous.

True, 3 points is a little too harsh. And shouldn't have Travis gotten some points too? He basically gave Skye outside info that Leo isn't one of the top 3 likely to win on sportsbet and that she is.

exactly, he should have shown some restraint and said nothing. BB should have called him on it. But then again he knows skye will be saved and her fans will vote hard so is ok to not give her a week off. My mind likes to overthink and I've been thinking whether bb knows how the families will be voting and this was his way to push one of the girls into the voting week.

I'm finding the serious hate that is being levelled at Skye to be utterly immature and embarrassing, actually. The venom behind some of the comments from some posters who are 30, 40+ years old... It is truly pathetic and certainly unhinged.

The comments in the DS tonight about Skye's mum and sister were just repulsive.... made me really, sincerely sad to read. I feel terrible for those people. :sorry::frown:

skye loves mum, and isnt afraid to show it.
she loves her sister too! she showed us a really sweet part of herself, and didnt make a scene with over the top hysterics or any bellyaching over bbs slo-mo interference.

shes not cocky, shes confident.
its not 'maybe'. its not 'i might'. its 'i will' win big brother 2014, and nobody in this house can stop her. she knows it, and shes 'putting it out there' to make it real. this is confidence. this is the eye of the tiger, and the heart of the lion. this is what a winner looks like, and its a shame that so many people find this an unattractive attitude for a young woman.
i really really hope that girls can take a big lesson in self-confidence from skye.

skye can do this, i am sure! its unfortunate for the haters that they just dont 'get it'. and thats the thing about skye; she is very polarising. some people just dont get it, and disparage her for not being more reserved, humble, dependant, or seeking of approval.
but there are a lot (and i mean a lot!) of us that do get it!

not much longer, skye! just a couple more weeks and you will have that house all to yourself!
