I'd love to do more charitable stuff with my skills, I always do what I can anyway, have done some feeding of the homeless at Xmas, always do the wishing tree, and do care packages for samaritan's purse, I'd love to be able to afford to do more of that stuff. Also travelling with aide workers, that would be a big change.

OHH! Perfect! We could raise the gayby there, egg for free rent? ;)

I'd like to do some more as well, I have done some here and there but I have so much free time, I should use it more. I used to volunteer at the cat protection society for my cat fix, and a small bit for the wayward chapel but the latter is pretty hectic compared to changing kitty litter. I was totally going to do the Xmas volunteering this year too but I'm going away. Next year I guess. I

An egg for free rent sounds too perfect!!

The Xmas lunches were amazing, everyone got a gift, a full proper xmas lunch, was a real community feeling, they were so grateful, so many kids too which was sad then everyone got a whole meal to take with them each, they do it weekly, I should do it more than just Xmas tbh :( Ohhh I would love to do some animal charity stuff too for a fix (selfishly but hey it works both ways right?)

if I win (and I should since I have put it out there for Prisus to grant) its done!

Hehe yeah my cat volunteering is mostly for selfish reasons, but the cats benefit too so it's ok! I really should look into the lunches at times other than Xmas, it does sound a bit sad though. But also really nice.

Let's hope you win!!

Oh you will definitely love doing aide work. I'm figuring you are an RN? I did that years ago when I was young and single, definitely a great experience. Quite the eye opener

I always wanted to feed the homeless at Xmas. I applied one year but they had their quota of volunteers already..makes me sad seeing everyone celebrate Xmas day with family, yet there are so many people alone on that day :(

Yeah I agree. I guess one positive to take away from that is that they are not short on people willing to help out.

Thats what they were saying to us too, they get overwhelmed at xmas, but every week they trying to find people, its a bit hard though cos its usually a lunch time thing and not everyone can get there at that time during a normal week[DOUBLEPOST=1415768249][/DOUBLEPOST]

I went to India too. Such different nursing there that's for sure! Well it was back then. Was a really great experience.

My dad said he was thinking about doing volunteer medical work overseas in his retirement, but he says he is unfortunately a little way off retiring since he still has a teenage son to keep alive. But one day!

I wish I had skills they needed. Not quite the same, but I guess there is teaching, it makes me sad to think of children who don't even have the opportunity to get educated.

This didn't really occur to me either and now I feel silly. I'm going to look into it ASAP I think.

I kind of never gave it much thought either tbh but was really cool at the place I did it, there is a guy and every friday him and all his workers go and do it every single week, and for their reward he gives them early knock off, which I thought was pretty cool

Ohhh I was wondering if your dad was in the field! An ortho I work with does 2 weeks 3 times a year through rotary

And your skills are so needed, I have a friend who is in south america teaching for 6 months underprivileged kids! she finds it way more rewarding than the private girls school normally at, but thats what pays the bills![DOUBLEPOST=1415773367][/DOUBLEPOST]@jessy_girl do you use any lush products?

As no one wanted to validate my reason to stay home from a shitty School Award Ceremony...( and you call yourself BB fans. sheesh):stop:, I must go.

TTFN..xx:kiss:

Oh that sounds like a good way to do it. I'm sure my dad knows his options, but maybe I'll suggest it anyway. Kind of funny because he works in fertility, not sure designer babies are the major issue in any of these countries, but obviously he has other skills too.

It would definitely be rewarding to teach underprivileged kids who would consider being educated a gift versus brats here who see it is a right or even worse a burden. I am feeling vaguely inspired now, although something tells me it won't last.

As for Lush, I have a few products that I was given as gifts and I love them all, I've never actually purchased anything myself though. My sister is a bit obsessed though from what I can gather.

Firstly, I love Stanmore.

Secondly, I hate all accountants.

Lastly, I just had a nap (because 2 hours sleep last night) and I DREMPT that

a) I moved to SATURN and SKYE and PRIYANKA were at my FAREWELL. SKYE helped me SMUGGLE CONTRABAN

b) I was asked to move back to EARTH to SAVE CAMBODIA from DROUGHT

Fitting grandeur tbh
