MBTI - Myers-Briggs Personality Anyone?

Is anyone familiar with the mbti system? Surely a good amount of people that are interested in BB are also interested with personality types/interactions etc?
It was spoken about on a thread last year I'm pretty sure.

Has anyone thought about typing the HMs? It's hard to do on some aspects but has anyone thought about it? Especially the clash of thinking and feeling?

Are you talking about one of those flawed internet testing ones, or the proper format

Why would I be talking about a flawed internet test?
It sounds like you're backwardly asking if I actually know what I'm talking about - yes, I've studied it and it's one of my major interests

I'm an ENFJ ... haven't really thought about the HMs.. it would be cool if they did some sort of personality test and published those results before the season for us to perhaps gain insight into why people are acting or reacting in certain ways.

Definitely would be interesting. Big Brother really needs to get its psychology side back!

I'm INTP, I think, if anyone cares, lmao.

Dunno enough about latest intruders, but I think remaining originals (inc. Leo) are:

Trav ESFP
Dave ISTJ
Priya INTJ
Ryan INTP
Skye ENFP
Leo ENFP
Interesting interesting. I've been thinking a lot about whether Skye is N or S. Just out of interest why did you place her as N? Were you typing based on E/I, F/T etc or Ni, Fe etc? The preference orders gets so confusing when you're trying to type this many people!

I think she is an N based on being quite spiritual rather than purely practical and evidence-based...

I know it's really why I watch it! So interesting to see how people change, their behaviours etc in the house. I sound like such a creep…
I wonder how much actual psychology goes into choosing the hms though, how they will clash, who will form alliances etc.

There's probably a lot less psychology now (if at all) than in the earlier seasons. Real shame.

that's exactly what I was thinking. She originally comes across on face value as a typical ESFP, but I think when you get to know her deeper she does actually think about things quite deeply, often wondering "why would they say that", "what does this say about their personality and out relationship", whereas someone like travis would say "fact: ryan said this. I'm gonna move on and not let it drag me down", rather than thinking about why he would say that or drawing meaning from the facts.
… but then doesn't David do the same as Skye? He is often drawing meaning from his interactions with others/their actions? Which leads me to ask can anyone enlighten me as to how a sensor can be highly strategic? I am an incredibly unbalanced intuitive so I am just wondering how it could work? The sensors I know well (family-members), are all very exhausted by manipulative thinking. They are not good at predicting the actions of others/thinking socially strategically because they just can't be bothered to analyse stuff that deeply. The intuitives I know can't help thinking that way.

Do you think it's contributing to lower ratings etc this season? I.e. does the psychology behind bb play an important role in it being entertaining/adding drama or whatever?

Um, probably not, but it does make the show feel much more rounded, and it used to give it that little something special, you know? Lack of cohesion is what's been this season's ultimate downfall, though. I mean, most of the psychological element had been watered down significantly by 2005/2006, but those seasons were still entertaining and (mostly) well received.

Where can I do this test please?
There are lots of tests on the internet, ultimately they're not perfectly accurate, but doing a couple of them should give you some kind of idea.
I would recommend doing this:
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp (this one tells you whether you sway between different functions so you can research them further)

and maybe another mbti test you find on google.

Then go read on http://www.personalitypage.com/html/portraits.html the type(s) you got and see if you think it fits you. For me, I knew straight away with no doubt what I was when I read its profile. For others, they struggle for a long time to figure out what they are.

There are other more complex ways of doing it but this should suffice!
