She definitely would know, and so she should know that the backlash this sort of thing receives is HUGE. She is inviting all sorts of abuse for bringing herself into the discussion. There's nothing wrong with her commenting, but I think it would have been wiser to stay quiet about it and avoid that sort of scrutiny. She went through it once, she shouldn't put herself through it again.
