Thank you for posting this, It really kicks off at around the 13 mark, a nice little surprise there. I actually really enjoyed this. I'm going to look up more of it. You must of always been in awe of your mum playing... Do you play by any chance?
I bought an album on iTunes by jeroen van veen about two weeks ago, I liked a lot of their music and have been listening a lot to it. I probably should raid my local library since I'm there almost three times a week and borrow some cd's.
I'm always so surprised at how knowledgeable you are in just about everything, Consuela. It seriously amazes me. I feel like I learn so much reading some peoples posts on this forum. You are one of those people, Prufrock was one of those people too and I very miss her on here. Thanks again... The way this obsession is going I might eventually say I know classical music as much as you (doubt it haha)
Btw, you have not seen braveheart- you are the only person I think that has not lol. Watch it! And fifty shades- Christain plays a piano, part of his allure. Bach was used during the BDSM experience, you really don't want to know I'm sure lol.
Yeah the final movement, Passepied, is a bit of surprise as it's very much a homage to early baroque style. I do play but not very often as I don't own a piano so I only get a chance when I'm back home. I'm nothing special though and not nearly as good as my mum who was the one to teach me.
I know of van Veen mainly for his performances of Glass and Einaudi who are two of my favourite contemporary composers - the album you bought probably includes some of their pieces so you've heard some of my faves without even knowing. I don't think I've heard an original of van Veen's though.
You make me blush.
