Go for a SURF ....
I've been listening to a lot of piano music on YouTube. It's my new obsession. I don't know what it is, but I rather enjoy how the music can create an emotion without the need for words. I like the piano on it's own, no other instrument with it.
Huge piano fan here. What sort of style is your favourite? Personally I can't go past a nice minimal piece. Have you stumbled upon Philip Glass? His work is beautiful.
Oh that sounded wonderful! I like the simple styles like what you've posted. I've realised with a hint of darkness or dramatic to it... Sorry I lack the terminology. I admit I don't know much about piano music other than what I like to hear and am fairly new to listening. But I do want to know more and listen more. So I appreciate what you've posted.
Please do not laugh lol, my fascination started when I was watching some world movie film and I wasn't reading subtitles because I was cooking but I could still hear. Some piano piece started play and I don't know but it affected me I suppose. From there I have youtubed as much as I could and went to iTunes to look at top 10 piano music pieces.
Hand on heart I've listened more to piano music over any other type for the last 4 weeks. I do feel like an amateur when I read comments and realise 'oh ok so this is considered bad piano'
I haven't a clue what the piece was. It was a Chinese film though, don't even know what film. I kind of just turned on the tv and that was the channel on. I have a feeling the hubby was watching the channel before me and given he has no patience for foreign films most times. I'm guessing it wasn't the film itself but rather the action happening that caught his attention![]()
I did enjoy some classical music when I was younger (soundtracks from movies, brave heart still being my favourite and I still hum the song to my boys even til now). But it's only now that I'm older that I truly appreciate classical sounds. My dad will be pretty pleased. He plays the guitar and ukulele and finds instrumental music in general to be more enjoyable haha.
Consuela, can you please, every once in a while post some piano music? The best I seem to get from YouTube is from the music flow channel.
I've heard more about Bach in fifty shades of grey- which is probably best not to be admitted either
Oh that's a shame I really wanted to know what it was or at least what period! I think the first piece that connects with you influences your taste a lot. My mother is a huge fan of Debussy so I grew up listening to her play him all the time so his Suite Bergamasque is the first piece that I really remember. You'll probably recognise the third movement Clair de lune (from 7:45) seeing as it's one of those classic piano pieces but I much prefer the Prélude.
I haven't actually seen Braveheart (I know!) so I'm not sure what pieces were in it. I'll have to check out the soundtrack to get me on the right track.
Ha! Why on earth is Bach even mentioned in 50 Shades? Tbh I enjoy his works even if the purists out there would see me hang for it.
