Big Brother’s Sam Bramham admits his girlfriend wasn’t happy about his close friendship with Sandra
BIG BROTHER evictee Sam Bramham admits his long-term girlfriend Michaela wasn’t happy about some parts of his relationship with fellow housemate Sandra.
The 26-year-old Paralympian formed a close bond with the retail manager from Wagga Wagga during his time in the Gold Coast compound.
Early on, Sandra admitted she had feelings for him but conceded “you’re always going to be someone else’s”.
Speaking about that moment, Michaela told the Jump In website: “It took a while to process and it is a very uncomfortable situation.”
After the buzz of walking out onto the stage and greeting a horde of screaming fans had passed last night, Bramham said he had a frank conversation with his partner.
“She wasn’t happy about a few things,” he admitted. “Definitely some of the back rubs and those things, she wasn’t too happy about. I wouldn’t be either.
“At the end of the day, we have our relationship and we trust each other. She knows I didn’t cross the line. She’s fine — she trusts me and I trust her.”
Bramham’s close friendship with Sandra was a talking point among some of the other Channel Nine reality show contestants, but he insists he “never crossed the line”.
“I can see why people made their own assumptions about it. Like any relationship between people of the opposite sex, there are always thoughts about it, about what’s going on.
“For me and her, it was purely plutonic. Yes, she had feelings at the start but we never crossed a line. If it became uncomfortable, we spoke about it.”
Bramham, who is a two-time gold medal Paralympic champion, said the cheating scandal between Lawson and Cat would “never have been an option for me”.
The pair spent a heated night in the sanctuary room earlier this month and shared an intimate kiss, amongst other things, despite Lawson having a girlfriend.
“Everyone saw what was happening there. I would’ve done it differently in his situation.”
Bramham was booted from the house night along with Travis, only the latter was a fake eviction as part of a twist.
Travis will spend a period of time in the sanctuary with last year’s housemate Ben Zabel and perform special tasks.
For his part, Bramham said he is keen to throw himself in to training for the 2016 Paralympics in Brazil, where he hopes to make the Para Triathlon team.
“It’s about knuckling down and getting the training down so I can hopefully make the cut.”
