Did Tim Dormer ruin Big Brother?

I think the lack of live feeds and Friday night live, the over editing and manufactured story lines and the choice of housemates are what has made this years BB so boring. The casting is awful but the later time slot hasn't helped. I'll be surprised if it comes back next year. If you compare last years cast to this years they don't even come close to measuring up.

I personally don't watch the show for "the game". Sure, it's entertaining to see someone stir things up as part of their strategy, but ultimately for me it's a way to satisfy my anthropological inclinations. Any housemate could be the "best housemate", it's in the relationships and the dynamic in the house that keeps me watching. Tim played the game and won but I wouldn't say he was "the best housemate" ever. In fact, I don't really get the fuss about him to be honest.

Yep! If this were BBUS, sure, considering the entire point of that show is "the game" but BBAU has never really been about that, even with all the little attempts to make it so over the years.

IMO: This years HM's have 'characteristics' of former HM's over the years.

A few examples.

Skye = Brigitte 2008 (The dumb act etc.)
Jake = Travis 2008 (Jake sometimes had a high pitched voice & what was the go with the 'glasses')
Lisa = Tahan (Bitchy part, but Tahan showed a nice side)
Lisa = Angie

Last year was the only year I couldn't be bothered watching till the end... Vote to Save is what won it, if it was vote to evict it would have been Tim who ??

I don't watch it for the purpose of wanting to see drama or people strategising, when i watch i always put myself in the housemates position and think about what i'd do in that situation. I never have 'favourite housemates' because i simply watch the show for the situations it produces. However i thought the way Tim from 2013 and Tim from 2005 manipulated the game was interesting.

I don't understand why people wanna pick housemates apart for trying to sell a persona, Tim from 05 was one of the best housemates ever and he sold a nerdy image and was able to create various underdog storylines off it, like when he had a crush on Kate or when he and Dean had arguments. Same thing with Tim, he made Ed look way worse than he was because he kept testing his commitment to Jade and whether he was using her to stay in the house, and he kept pushing the fact he was a 'misfit' to gain fans.

That being said Big Brother hasn't been ruined, the later timeslot means they're showing more risky shit. I already like this season and it's housemates more than 2012, 2008, 2007 and 2006. People always look for the negatives and they are missing out on what is actually a pretty good season.

The reason this years BB sucks is because of the chemistry in the house, 80% of footage is people bitching about one other and not even interacting and having fun.

Bitching is not bad, IMO.

BB should make the activities fun to watch and specially show them to us. In the French BB they all talk behind each others back, but they are having a lot of fun. Parties a few times a week, a little music every day, they don't have to think about budget for food, there washing is being done for them. The show is around the missions they have to do to make money while in the house. The missions are there to create conflict too. They can talk about nominations which makes it more interesting because it creates alliances, and broken alliances. What is interesting is that we can see what is happening in the house. We see some of what they do every single day.

It isn't bad, because I do it, and I expect most people would do it......... in moderation.

I'll turn a blind eye towards Sam, Ryan, Sandra and Lawson, only because they have nothing better to do on the staff, being disgruntled, lack of sleep etc. although they are all condescending as fuck, but I'm moreso pointing to how it is either edited or maybe that's just what the house environment is like.

It's expected in the Big Brother, but it shouldn't be extreme focal point that it is now.

I think you're giving Tim way too much credit. He was the most overtly strategic of the winners, but much of his behaviour came across as contrived. He certainly suited the current incarnation of the show with its beat up storylines, so I guess the producers didn't have to work as hard on creating drama. As for "ultimate", I don't think he was as organically interesting or entertaining as many of the past HMs.

Get over yourself idiot, I have a right to voice my opinion when a stranger is standing up for themselves as a result of strangers taking pot shots
