I am a new member from the US, and I made this distinction on the first episode...I don't know if Discovery Channel shows Gold Rush there, but Parker Schnabel from the show could be Sandra's Twin Brother

Probably mainly just the blonde hair, the fact that they're both quite short, and the characters I've seen Kristin play are generally a bit ditzy and quite animated with that slightly squeeky voice.
