@MADONNA don't worry, i admit i also wasn't a fan of estelle in the beginning (i was gunning for her to go in the first eviction). THE SHAME. she's complex and it took time to get her, and i shouldn't have judged her so quickly. thankfully i came to my senses at some point and recognized her for who she is: the QUEEN.

I liked you on the show, actually I don't think I would have made it to the end if you hadn't been on it. And though you didn't win in the final vote (I think people just expected you to win at that stage) you definitely won the vote over the whole season. I'll just give some of my personal opinions on Big Brother.
The fact that you say you had no idea of what to expect on the show having not seen it definitely made it more interesting. When you get people who are very self-conscious it can get annoying and feel not as real. Ben's antics in the nominations booth with his pulling faces for instance. I think Ben saw it more as a game, which is a way Big Brother is often played and it is a kind of competition. He seemed to think you were playing a game while you were just trying to stand up for yourself. I remember him questioning you on the sofa towards the end, partly for the cameras I think.
Just like in life on the outside not everyone will get along with each other in the house, and the producers definitely put people in who they think will conflict to create drama. It's like a social experiment and one which might seem cruel but I feel it reflects how society is as well. Plenty of the audience often show the same kind of prejudices you see on the show. For people life is often about conforming so they are accepted by a group and can look down on others not accepted. I always seem to support those more individualistic people on the show, and often they end up being relatively excluded by the majority of a house. The pressure of being kept in there with people you wouldn't normally live with always seems to bring out the worst in some. At its worst it can lead to people walking, or aggressive confrontations. The strongest though pull through and find their own niche.
The advantage with the public vote Big Brother is the public can keep someone in even if they are excluded by most of the house. Getting nominated week after week must be hard but if you keep getting saved it gives you the kind of support others won't have as much. And most who go on Big Brother want to be liked in my opinion, they want to stay and know that the public want them on their screens. I'm glad you got that kind of affirmation on the show. For those who didn't well life goes on and people live and learn, at least they have more chance to learn than many people who are never judged in such a public way.
After Big Brother I think it's pretty normal for HMs to just go their own way, as the only thing in common with most other HMs is the BB experience which is quite contrived though intense. Any continuing friendships people pick up from the experience are a bonus in my opinion. So I'd take the good memories and just put the bad ones down to the life experiences we have to put up with, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

It's weird seeing how few housemates stay friends outside the house (last year's seems a good example with Jade saying Tim is the only one to have stuck by her) and then you see this year's housemates all repeating that same group mentality - acting like the best of friends.
I find myself sitting there watching it knowing so few of them will be friends in the outside world so the bonds they have are actually fake. Which makes their alienation of other people more frustrating as they're not going to stay in touch much with the ones IN their group anyway - so how hard is it to extend that fake nice to the outsiders instead of ganging up on them?
I guess that's the format though, the format is built around having 2 people to nominate each week so if someone doesn't fit in it makes it easier for the majority. In some cases they don't WANT the outsider to be given a break as having outsiders makes noms so much easier so they keep them on the outs even if they're not doing anything wrong.
Estelle was a brilliant case of that, none of the people who ganged up on her have been able to come up with reasonable reasons as to why she was such a bad person. Hi Estelle!
You were my favourite from day 1 - sweet, nice, honest and I loved that you stood for animals rights and equality. I only grew to love you even more throughout the series, I was spending hundreds on you a week. I joined this forum because of you so I could spread the word of support for you, I spent hours flooding the Facebook page with 'SAVE ESTELLE' posts. I know, I was OBSESSED (Creepy maybe?) but hey, I guess all that rallying and campaigning paid off because you ended up in the finals! (I STILL think the way they presented the results was rigged so you were doomed not to win by showing that you were most saved at one stage).
You should find the Estelle appreciation thread and read over it! We loved you.
Oh and you followed me once on Twitter as well. Let's just say that I was the person who gave you the boost after you left the house, if you still remember

Estelle I just wanted to say you're one of the only two housemates I ever voted for (and the only one I tried to convince all my friends somehow to vote for which failed but oh wellz) and that it's cool that you're p much like everyone else here in that you want to see only the best of big brother C: Tho you were best of 2012's for sure.
