A Storm Is Coming (Big Brother 2014 Promo #1)

hello Australia this potato is back looking forward to this years BB ours in England was absolute rubbish this year

It won't - every year someone says they'll take a BBUK twist but they don't - and I've seen nothing at all in the promotion so far that suggests they will.

I loved the power housemate concept that BBUK had! It was so intriguing! I loved how everyone wanted it, yet it resulted in some game-ending backfires. Although I must admit, I would have preferred that the power housemate was kept secret each week like Chris was initially. But please, no killer nomination (nominated every week). It seemed pretty unfair in BBUK but it would be especially unfair for BBAU given that we vote to save. All it would take is one week of viewer complacency and they are outta here. And please! God! Please God! No pass to the final! Not that I really hated Helen, but I just don't think I could tune in each week knowing that some boring old pot plant had a pass to the final.

In short: take the power housemate concept, conceal their identity, no killer nomination, no pass to the final ... oh, and one more thing ... please get rid of intruders.

BIG BROTHER 2014:

A STORM IS COMING

Monday, September 8, on Channel Nine

BIG BROTHER, the ultimate social experiment, is returning in epic proportions on Monday, September 8, on the Nine Network, with a sensational new house and more viewer engagement than ever.

Australia will see the 2014 Housemates in a brand new House where all is not what it seems. Renovations for the building took months to complete, and will provide viewers and contestants with much to talk about.

BIG BROTHER said: “The Housemates have no idea what I have in store for them this year, but Big Brother can tell you that a storm is coming and the new Housemates should be prepared to line up and get on board.”

In 2014, BIG BROTHER will also have a fully digital and integrated platform, which allows viewers more engagement and interaction than ever before. BIG BROTHER said: “Australia, this year it is power to the people. Your first chance to control what happens in my House starts before night one. You decide more than just who stays and who goes.”

Host Sonia Kruger, who is back in the big chair for the third season, said: “This is without a doubt going to be the most exciting series we’ve ever seen. From night one, Housemates will have to make immediate judgments which will have far reaching consequences into their Big Brother experience.

“In this day and age, with the prevalence of social media, people are forced to make snap judgments on other people based on tiny bits of information. Our Housemates are going to have to make quick decisions based on first impressions.

“I also hear our 2014 Housemates are the most opinionated and most controversial ever, and buttons will be pushed.”

BIG BROTHER has been a ratings juggernaut for the Nine Network. The 2013 grand final BIG BROTHER Winner Announced was watched by a massive average national audience of more than 2.136 million viewers.

What do you reckon @the Theorist of them still calling it the ultimate social experiment? Haha

CHANNEL 9, if you buttheads dont make apps for all devices, or just tack it onto the jump in app, i WILL hate you forever.

reading the press release though definitely makes me think we're having a peoples puppet, sounds almost identical.

Hmmm. So, less FTA, more SM engagement? Gee wow.

I hope to be proven wrong. :conf:

No comment at this time. :p

But after reading the full press release, I am now getting even more of a feeling that we're definitely going to see a cross between BBUK's People's Puppet from BBUK14 and the Power Housemate/Power Public from BBUK15. The new BBUK app this season was used specifically for the public's "control" over the house, and that's all I kept thinking of when I was reading the above article about our influence over the HM's this season.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is something along those lines. Interesting...

The UK fans thought that this years big brother was the worst season yet and its taken a lot of criticism and accusation about rigged votes.
Nobody like to see outside influence and interaction in the big brother format.. they are isolated from the outside world for a reason.. and no one should get a free pass to the end, ensuring a steady storyline, having something like "the power" made the housemates become over paranoid and very much on edge 24/7.. it was a very tense show

Those rigged evictions really annoyed me. Especially when Winston was evicted. You could tell that was rigged due to the crowd reaction when his name was read out by Emma when he was about to the evicted.

LOL are you joking me? Can you give me one good reason why the production team would want to rig evictions considering how SERIOUS the reprecussions are if they were to be caught? Not to mention the fact that the phone votes are audited by a third party as they are in Australia. The crowd at BBUK represents not even 1% of the voting public (if they even vote) and the booing/cheering is pantomime anyway. Lots of people wanted Winston out, including me.

I have a better idea: NO TWIST AT ALL.
