I just hope they don't try and do what they did in 2008 with the bloody revolver where they "attempted" to make it look like the house was conjoined with the stage (magically...after 7 years of the golf buggy drives) by having the HM leave the house and "appear" at the stage via the stairs.

Although tbh I'm still convinced these stairs this year will actually be part of the house somehow. I don't believe it will be an entry/exit at all.

How funny would it be if the stairs just led up to the house entrance, then immediately back down again to outside. Boh.

In BBUK there's a reason for the stairs (eviction walkway for live shows), but BBAU is totally different.

In really wouldn't be surprised if they do this ala 2008 and the set on the eviction stage "links up with it" (revolver)

Nope, not the same wall.

The 2008 eviction doors were on the wall of the main compound. That roller door opening is on the 2012 Captains Quarters extension.

I hated the 2008 "attempt" to have an audience immediately outside the house. It was TOO SMALL an audience to have any real impact.

I hope that they're NOT attempting this again within such a small area. It just looks pathetic.

according to the plans the staircase goes up then to the left, looking at the floorplan, theres not much house left there before you get to the boundary...

Here are my thoughts with the plan and nearmap data. I think there will be a second level area as you can see on my attachment. You can also see on nearmap a shadow which appears to be wall frame on the lower level so possibly building up here. The plans also state a stair case leading up so something is being built here.

Might be an eviction room to which the nominated go before the announcement, just a thought. Most likely it will be the new rewards room as it is over looking the second pool.

The red wall is actually where the garden of Eden was last year. It's all been ripped up, the hall you see is where they got evicted through last year and behind that is the presidential suite.

Just to remove any doubt where last year's entrance was, here's a photo of the camera run/entrance. This is looking from the edge of compound toward the main house yard. You can see the reflection of the entrance doors as well.

Unless Showdown this year is going to be 'a big deal', I think that they should incorporate the rewards area as part of the main House and use the Showdown arena as new the rewards space. If Showdown's not going to be 'a big deal', all I see the arena as is a waste of space.

Thanks for that image, marquisette. Can you clarify something else for me please... Wasn't the corridor from the entry door to the house a single straight line? That doesn't seem to be possible with that inbuilt section at the end. What even is that?

Nope it wasn't straight, that little stick out bit is for the presential suite entrance and also possible for the launch camera angle.

I went to Dreamworld today and got abit of a look at the Big Brother house (from the Giant Drop)!
Didn't get to see much of the backyard, but it looks like more trees from what I did see. The Showdown arena is the most noticeable and is still standing. So is what looks like the kitchen!

And it looks like the mesh from the garden of eden is still there! Either mesh or an actual roof.

The Garden of Eden mesh is still there, really? Maybe it is a cover up for a future Nearmap flyover. The mesh was missing in June.

Didn't get to see much of the backyard, but it looks like more trees from what I did see. The Showdown arena is the most noticeable and is still standing. So is what looks like the kitchen!

And it looks like the mesh from the garden of eden is still there! Either mesh or an actual roof.
