So if perfect match were around today and you were young and looking for love would you go on it with people on social media possibly saying horrible things about you?

Awesome Question!

My sister in law, at the time, dobbed me in and I received paperwork in the mail, and I followed though. I never really thought about the implications. With SM. I would have been, in that time space, maybe a bit more careful - Maybe? Shit, I was 25 - that age when all is just life!

In saying that, I know what it is like to have people say horrible things about me. Not on SM, but in real community life. Trying to uphold the laws, in which you are bound, only to be belittled by those that think rules are made to be broken.

If you put yourself out there, BE PREPARED .......#dibdibdobdob .......

no i didn't,but i think it's funny your BF cried. was that an alarm bell i heard going off with your BF if he was wanting you to pick a different no, or just jealousy? :hilarious:

He was totally upset! LOL!!!! We ended up getting married the next year! Failed 2 years later! Yeah he was NO NO NO - not #2 LOL ....strange but fun times.

I can relate to Tully and the 20 somethings - You never know, unless you go go go :) and SM sucks for recording your MIS -TAKES!!!

very true, the fails are there FOREVER :)

are you looking to see if your episode is on the net? ;)

that's a shame it didn't work out, you should have gone back on the show #next

People will always judge. People will always have their imput and think that they know best for another. SM is a place that people put out their life for others to judge. If you go there - expect the heat!

then it's a good place to be in Winter? there are some HMs who don't seem to have had negative comments on their SM. Boog, Xavier, Justynne, maybe even Rohan, i haven't seen bad things about them from trollies

Yeah I had a looksee - cannot find it as yet, maybe it is out there lurking somewhere?

I will get it sorted on DVD and upload to you tube :)

Time to watch the Tennis :)

Yeah, I guess that there are followers that are positive and that is awesome. You know the saying - If you can not say anything nice - don't say it (or something like that)

But doesn't the fact that they acted that way in the context of the game tell you something about their character? That's the whole "social experiment" side of the Big Brother experience. Whatever they do in the game tells you something about them. That they are willing to do what it takes to win or get further at the expense of someone else.

I get where you are coming from, but I would want to know. I don't think sticking your head in the sand and ignoring it is really the way to go. At this point there is probably no point in reliving it, the time for that has probably past, as you point out. But I would have been fascinated to see what the other people in the house did, said and thought of me. And if that results in strained relations, that is based on things they did and said in front of millions of people. So be it. They say ignorance is bliss but it would be far too interesting for me to ignore.

Not wanting to see yourself? That is way more understandable for me.

Maybe they remember the experience very fondly and don't want to ruin their own personal memories of the experience by being confronted with some harsh realities? There's nothing wrong with that. It's not all the HMs that don't want to watch either. Within a couple of days of leaving Tahan was watching the series back...even posting videos on Twitter to make fun of Jade. Matt said he watched it back early on too.

I can really understand why people like Tully or Jade wouldn't want to watch it though. Since leaving Tully has been confronted with a mountain of abuse due to her behaviour in the house. Knowing that's the way she came across, why would she want to watch it? Likewise with Jade, after leaving everyone abused her saying she was obsessed with a guy that told everyone he didn't like her...if she had genuine feelings for Ed why would she choose to hurt herself by putting herself through watching that? Why would she want to ruin a nice life memory she has of meeting him in there? She's over it now anyway so it's not like she has anything to gain by watching it now.

Re the people's character in the game: I just think it would be a shame a friendship that's been mostly built on the outside was ruined due to something that happened ages ago in a completely different environment where a lot of them were not being their true selves in order to win.

@timdormer: @cb_bruce A few years ago you made me redundant, tonight your 19 year old daughter gave me her number at the bar. #RevengeServedCold

@cb_bruce: @timdormer yes, but I make a great BBQ which I always serve hot. Welcome to the family, son!

HA! I was going to jump in last night but thought it wouldn't be received well.
I was thinking that we have no idea what kind of relationship Tim has with CB. This proves to me that CB didn't find the tweet inappropriate. Either they have a good relationship or Tim just knows CB can take it well.
What a hullabaloo over what is probably nothing :)

Fair enough, but that doesn't necessarily mean that portraying himself as someone who says/does this sort of thing is a smart career move.

True! But there could also be a third option too...CB might respond to people saying crap to him the same way Ed does: clever smartarse retorts (that's how I took his "welcome to the family" anyway). Kinda takes away their power and makes them look like a fool when you don't engage but just play along with it. Who knows really.

Isn't it subjective to determine what is and is not useful information? And how would you know until you actually have the information? Its definitely a situation you will never find yourself in again, but I don't think that means their actions do not tell you something of their character. "Why relive the past?" Because their can be important lessons to learn from the past. Maybe they would see something in themselves that they want to change or see something in the people around them that they don't want to bring into their life again. Learn from history or repeat it. I don't see the benefit of ignoring information. Once you have the information, you can decide to disregard it as nothing of importance or move on. But why not get the information?

^^ A million times this.

I find the BB experience to be quite revealing of a housemate's character, warts and all. In fact it is probably the closest you'll get to scratching beneath surface of who someone truly is considering that people in their daily lives present their best 'mask' to others and hide as many foibles as possible behind that polite and civil charade.

I think that experience revealed quite a lot about Jade and why she has struggles in her love life and in other facets of her life. I don't know about anybody else but that is the primary reason why I'm fan of this show, it cuts out the bullshit real quick from day 3 (if not earlier) onwards.

I won't repeat Jade's flaws again for fear of upsetting her devoted fans but based on how Jade carried herself in the show it's quite obvious to someone who is impartial about Jade (meaning I'm not wearing rose tinted glasses and able to criticize a very flawed human being, albeit very pretty :)) why she is the way she is. I understand and get Jade a lot more than I normally would if I'd never seen the side of her she displayed in BB.

Beautifully put SES, beautifully put. But then again there are people who genuinely believe Jade is just about 100% perfect the way she is and any suggestion of (however slight) imperfection is dismissed as aspersions from nasty little trolls. :p

Tim is a :poop:-stirring knob
My only shock is that it's taken many of his devout fans this long to realise this.

From day 1 I knew Timmy was an A grade tosser of the highest order. Sorry Tim fans but you now know it's true. :p

That said I don't find his flippant comment anywhere near as offensive as some females do. :whistling:

A little classless but nothing that I haven't come to expect from Timmy, kinda used to it by now.
