Post BB - Housemate Antics 2013 - Part 2

Very true, it is a discussion forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have noticed though that everyone sticks up for their favourites when they are being criticised. I have always been a Tully fan, I won't deny it and have cringed sometimes at her comments along with the rest. But just like everyone sticking up for their favourite, I have decided to stick up for mine on this occasion as I felt that she was copping undue criticism for something that no one knows for sure that she has actually done. I have sat back a lot in the past and listened to people comment negatively about Tully and generally just let it go as I can see their point of view, even though I may not always agree with it. Today I reached saturation point however and decided to comment, just as Jades and Tim's fans do when they feel slighted. Things will move on, I just wanted to let people know how I felt. :)

Hear hear and well said Jt...I admire your loyalty and I feel exactly the same way about Tim. I couldn't stand Tully in the house...really, intensely disliked her but I softened in my attitude towards her once she was evicted and what really brought that about was the interview where she talked about her Mum. I can't imagine the horror of what she went through and is still going through with that hideous disease and how it's robbed her (and all her family) of a precious and irreplaceable relationship. My view of Tully is always tempered by that knowledge because I think the trauma of it all has shaped who she is and how she acts. I dare say I'd be a lot snottier and unpleasant than she is if I'd had that happen to me.

Mrs. B raises an interesting point about rarely, if ever seeing Tully with fans. I know she's scolded people on SM for not coming up to her to say hi because they were too shy but there really don't seem to be many of her with fans at all like there are with other HMs...unless I've just missed them?

This!

I never even noticed Tully's lack of photos with fans till I read Mrs B previous post. And my dislike for Tully continues to rise.

I think in the early days she had a lot of photos taken with fans, particularly when she was at BB organised functions. She does sometimes comment on SM to thank people who make a nice comment. She however still gets a lot of nasty comments on SM that get deleted, so I can understand how she doesn't interact as much on there. I don't think she gets to attend events like Tim, Tahan, Ben and perhaps Jade do any more to get those fan photos. It is really only Tim Tahan Ben and Jade who seem to be in fan photos, with the exception of Drew who still gets the google eyed girls chasing him for photos (I don't think he will escape that for a while)

I've seen fans say she is nice - but have also seen comments from fans saying that she flicked them off - so she may be as changeable in the way she reacts to and treats fans, as her moods seem to be.

She still has photos with fans - at the airport recently for example. I am also sceptical of some of the people who post that Tully was rude to them - I have only seen a couple of people post these comments. Some of those people are also the trolls that post nasty comments and deliberately try to paint Tully in a bad light in this regard. I have seen them do it to Drew as well. As I have said in another post, some housemates get more opportunities than others to have fan posts, it shouldn't make the ones that don't, be considered bad for something they don't necessarily control.

Example of one recent fan post for the sceptics - oh and btw Tully favourited his tweet as well

@ThomasBleach: Nice meeting you @tee_smyth ✌️ http://t.co/to95EW1hqW

@tee_smyth: @ThomasBleach Sorry I was out of it- the red eye flight will do that to you.

At first when the "Tully was rude to me" and "she barged into me and didn't apologise" comments came out I didn't take it seriously because it seemed like they were mostly coming from immature little brats wanting to put her down because she had Drew.

However the more and more that come out the harder it becomes not to believe them. There's been so many accounts now of her being rude to fans that I personally think some of them at least would have to be true.

I know it would be hard for her with all the hateful comments and that makes her probably put her defences up and want to be rude to everyone, however she does have a lot of people that adore her too that she doesn't seem to give the time of day. Usually id say she doesn't owe them anything, but with BB she kind of does. People spend their hard earned dollars saving these people, and the only reason Tully lasted in the house long enough to get the fame she did from the Drew thing was because voted to save her.

My mind goes back to the video she posted about the nasty comments she got on SM. I remember at the time being disappointed that she only ever seemed to give any attention to the haters and never to the people that support her.

I just keep thinking that if she put as much value in the opinions of people that support her as she does the haters she might feel a bit happier.

Wait, really?

I get what you're all saying to an extent, but I wonder if she's not also getting way too much credit as a devious social media mastermind. Is everyone in her life who seems to really like her being fooled, or are they playing the game too? I do agree that a lot of what she does is probably more staged or...curated than it might seem on the surface, but I can't see that complex a plot happening anywhere.
Neither can I. This is becoming a little absurd. Love your comment that Tully curates and I agree, but she's no Machiavelli for god's sake. No complex plot for me either.

Well we know she was trying to get Centrelink to fund her lifestyle so maybe they finally put her on a payment or maybe her dad's helping her out. Who knows. If she actually got a 4 week gig in Melbourne doing something, good on her! But that's one month out of the 8 she's been out of BB and even then I have my doubts she's here solely for work as we've yet to see it. She's a 26 year old woman trying to get an ongoing gig on social media and yet those other girls she went to Bali with all have other jobs to support themselves with so that's how they can sustain the facade they portray online.

As for why people assume Tully always tries to manipulate things... it's because we saw repeated examples of it when she was on our TV and live feeds every night. Then of course she sold a few stories to tabloids so that just cemented the perception of her. I don't think anyone is saying much of anything is her fault - other than ruining her relationship with Tahlia of course - but there's this perception of her because she's given it to us. We've had 8 months of watching how she operates so it's easier to see through the bs. The other HMs don't cop the distrust or negative speculation because they haven't done anything to warrant it.
What confuses me about this is that I thought Tully now HAD a media job. That's why she was in Bali. Why do people think that she's still unemployed?

The one thing I'd question is whether the people to whom Tully was supposedly rude are actually fans.
